'11 GA OL J.D. Jones

I didn't say he is a take, I just wanted to report what I saw Friday night. Played the #7 ranked team in GA, was heavy underdogs against a power run team, and J.D. anchored the DL to stuff the run, and won the game.

I'll try to get some more inside info on the guy if I can. I have several friends that go to school with him.

Again, I'm not saying we take him or Not. I'm just saying he looked impressive against solid competition!

We won't take him no matter who we miss out on. They would save the scholarship for next year if what Hubbs has said is true. We already have a decent Oline class. Still have a shot at Richardson, and Asiata. Also Clear who I consider a TE and I think CDD wants as a TE but he could make a great OT at some point.

well LV reported back on 7-1 that Jones and his coach, and Chad Simmons confirmed that he does indeed have an offer. So, someone is lying.

I'm really not for or against this kid getting an offer, But I like how he said he was surprised that UT offered at the camp, and that was the only time they've seen him. That's rare for this staff to not actively recruit someone, then offer on the spot at camp. If that is true (again, someone is lying here) then that is impressive within itself.

Anyhow, like I said, if I can get an inside scoop I'll sure post it here for everyone.

no way does this kid have a commitable offer...Hubbs has stated numerous times that Richardson and Clear the only remaining o-line take at this point...Jones would only be a take if we miss out on some kids at not only o-line but numerous other posistions

IF he did have an offer extended we're pretty much full right now on the OLine, I don't see us taking anyone other than Asiata or AR unless some elite prospect wanted to commit. If he has an offer I wouldn't imagine it is commitable. I would think Hubbs knows whether the kid has an offer or not.

Who knows...

Anyhow, I think he will be a DL. Seems like he came off the field some on OL, but was always in there on Defense.

Also, Cartersville also has Justin Floyd, OL, who camped at UT, but didn't impress the staff as much as J.D. I actually didn't watch him too much because I was really trying to see what J.D. was all about.

Hubbs has also stated numerous times Jones is not being recruited by Tennessee and has never even received an offer from Tennessee even tough he "claims" he has. He also made reference that he did not have a good camp.

I had sent Coach Chuck Smith my film and he said he liked it a lot,” Jones told InsideTennessee.com Monday afternoon. “We talked about setting up an official visit in the next month or so.”

“I love it there,” Jones said. “I got to know the coaching staff a lot this summer. I attended one of their camps and they liked me at the center position. Coach Smith told me Saturday he likes me at the DT position, I’m not sure where they are recruiting me for.”

“I love the atmosphere there,” Jones said. “The stadium is incredible. I definitely could see myself playing there.”

If C.S.S. likes him at DT, and we miss on Mickey and Gabe he may have a spot on the team, if not I cant see why we'd take him

I know his offer sheet isn't impressive, but this would be huge if he walks-on over going on a scholarship somewhere else. I don't know them personally, but his dad has been on the football coaching staff for a long time. His dad also coaches the weight lifting team, and is an absolute stud. He had a terrible injury, but is still a beast. I believe J.D. is on his way to being like his dad too, he's naturally strong, and is a freak in the weight room.

No way he greyshirt's either. He isn't getting a scholarship offer unless of course Tennessee's entire recruiting class implodes (which it wont). He's never had an offer. He will walk on if anything.
