His squat max is 310? really? I am almost a foot shorter than him and weigh 140 lbs less and I maxed at 500 in HS. Dude is weak.

When you can only squat your body weight at the end of your freshman year when you have had an entire summer/season to lift is sad.

Offensive Lineman, I'm guessing Tackle. It's in the Wednesday issue of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. That particular article doesn't mention bench press.

a 300 pound sophomore has lots of time to develop his body and become more muscular.. just give the kid some time

I couldn't even lift 135 bench/225 squat when I was 19 and in college. It didn't keep me from playing D1 baseball. I didn't develop until I was 22/23 years old and doubled those numbers in eight months.

In other words, numbers have absolutely NOTHING to do with athleticism, heart, determination, skill, and talent.

Dickens... please just average 10% of your posts having some semblance of information or intellect and the rest of the VN will have a small Christmas present from you.

Thank you and have a wonderful New Year.

baseball is a completely different animal than football.

Not to mention heart and determination are overrated unless you have the strength and skill to go along with them.

I just know weak when I see it.

Being 16 and squating at 6'8 isn't very easy, especially when you consider that more than likely he has been growing rapidly since age 11 to reach that size. Give him another year or 2 in his 6'8 frame and then judge.

All I'm saying is he's weak now. I'm sure he'll be fine by sr year.

At 6'8" 310 Lbs being only able to squat your weight is weak. So is being able to only bench less than your weight.

Yo do realize that it's harder for a tall person to do a correct squat, right? Add to the fact that the kid is probably only 15, and it makes sense.
