This guy is from just outside my city. He is a bull, and he's very intelligent. He's got offers from 'most every school in the Big Ten. Vandy is the only other SEC school to offer. USC has also offered, so I don't know what our chances are like.

Volquest has an article about this young man and it states that UT made a verbal offer to him recently.

"I was kind of surprised that Tennessee offered," Walsh said. "They had been sending me letters and things and I was heading out to practice one day and coach said that Tennessee had called and offered. I have talked to them once and I am looking into them more."

"I actually watched them on TV a lot last year when coach (Lane) Kiffin was there," Walsh offered. "I know that they are adjusting to a coaching change, and I have a lot to learn about them. But I know about Rocky Top."

per scout:

Walsh’s most recent offer came from Tennessee. “I’ve had some contact with the coaches,” he said. “They seem like good guys and they’ve been recruiting me a lot more recently.”

Walsh has cut his list to his final 8 schools: Northwestern, USC, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Hopes to visit UT this summer.

Ya we made his top 8 schools and he hasn't visited us yet. Having Hiestand and Chaney on staff should definitely help our chances, people have a lot of respect for Chaney up here. There are a lot of solid interior lineman in the state this year.

Eggzacklee, Hiestand is a damn good asset to have. Ol coach Cregg couldn't carry CHH's jockstrap.

He will be a vol. He lives in Illinois and it don't hurt that we got the O-line coach from Chicago, which is in Illinois. He is ours to loose IMO.

Not even close to all Vol, however we are definitely in the thick of things. You can expect schools like Notre Dame and Stanford to be high on his list because he is a smart kid, I think how legitimate of a contender we are will be indicated by whether or not he is able to make it down for a visit.
