"I know that I definitely want to take official visits to Tennessee and Central Florida and I'll probably take my other three visits before I decide."

- Scout

Jackson has received a Vol offer. He also holds offers from Bama, UGA, Miami, Arkansas, Okla St, Missouri, Texas Tech, Baylor, etc.

Looks like the Vols probably lead at this point going by what he's saying.

In the first five games last year, he recorded 40 tackles and 9 sacks then was set back by injury.

He will be an Early Enrollee and will have 3 years to play 2.

I seem to remember him out of high school a few years ago. Pretty sure he was a very highly rated 4* prospect out of one of the prep schools in VA. (I think he's originally from Georgia). I think he actually signed with Georgia out of high school.

Should be a top priority for this class. Instant starter type in 2011. Looks to me by his size he could project anywhere on the DLINE from Strong Side End to Defensive Tackle. And we have needs everywhere on the DL.

I think we need at least 2-3 DE in this class since we will be losing Walker and Martin. Nice offer list would be a great pick up.

Yes. Big time player.

He was a 4star in '09 out of hargrave.

In '08, he was a 5.9 4star, #5 SDE, and #85 overall player. Had offers from UGA (where he committed), USC, Bama, Miami, FSU, and Auburn.

Here are his profiles from those years:

We are also losing Gerald Williams.

We will only have 3 DEs on the roster next year now that Fowlkes has apparently moved to DT.

Yeah DE is a huge need in this year's class. They need at least 2 DE's, probably 3. This kid is an instant starter at Strong Side End in '11 if they can land him.

a perfect recruiting class on the DL would go like this imo:

4 DTs- 3 high schoolers and 1 JUCO
3 DEs- 2 high schoolers and 1 JUCO

Forgot about him. Heck we might need 4 DE then. I also think as it has already been said this guy will probably be a DT IMO.

I seriously doubt he's a DT with the need they have at DE. The kid has played DE his entire career. No sense in moving him to an entirely new positions with only 2 years of eligibility remaining. That is my opinion at least. Now if DE wasn't a big need as well, then yes I could see him potentially being a DT.

My younger brother played against this kid last season in a Texas junior college bowl game.. He said he could play about as good as Wayne Dorsey who sign with Ole Miss this last recruiting class

he was a 5.9 4 star......... now, atleast on scout he is a 3 star. sorry in advance if I am wrong.

LOL @ Scout having him a 3star.

That will change when they see Rivals ranks him a 4 or 5 star. Scout will suddenly copy-cat and bump him up.

From all I've seen already he's going to likely be a national Top 5 JUCO prospect in this class. And a 3-star JUCO doesn't have an offer list like the one he has.

Jackson was a unanimous pick as Georgia's 2007 Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year.

As Lord Vader mentioned above, the new Scout article says he had 40 tackles and 9 sacks in Navarro's first five games before suffering a shoulder injury. A Scout piece from January said he finished with 56 tackles, 6 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 9 games.

However, Navarro's official stats show Jackson with 33 total tackles, 6 TFL and just one sack, which a Scout piece in March actually got right. He had a huge game against Georgia Military College w/ 13 tackles and 4 TFL but no other games w/ more than 4 tackles.
