#11 Kentucky @ North Carolina - Men's BBall

I must say, I expected UNC to be handily beaten today. I didn't know, however, that Kentucky had no inside game. Rebounding won this one for the Heels. Still can't shoot and don't value the ball, but a nice win regardless. Zeller with the best game of his Carolina career, showed some toughness too which is a pleasant suprise. In the words of Herm Edwards, "We can build on this!" Guard play HAS to improve for this team to make any noise this season.

Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. I guess I'm not as high on Kentucky as you are. They did beat Washington but that's one game. Ketucky hasn't looked like anything special and it's early in the season. I see no reason why North Carolina couldn't beat them. Their losses were to 6-1 Minnesota by 5, 6-1 Vanderbilt by 7 and 7-1 Illinios by 12. Two of the games were on neutral courts and the other was on the road. I'm not convinced that a group of freshman are going to walk into Chapel Hill and win by 20. They could, but I wouldn't bet on it if I were a betting man. We'll see.

I'm stunned that you're sure of a 20 point loss to be honest.

I'm a Carolina alum, and this year's team has thoroughly disgusted me.

I don't blame you. I'm just not completely sold on Kentucky this early in the season and I thought North Carolina could take advantage of their lack of size. Zeller and Henson were excellent today.

I don't like either team but I've really enjoyed the first half. Great game.

Sucks for Vol432 and Vol_Ball_777 if they aren't watching.

Looks like Kentucky is going to have to do some work in the second half for that blowout.

I had to work today, so I DVR'd the game. Unfortunately, I broke down and looked at the score online.

A loss to Carolina means that Kentucky is not any good this year.

Let's not get too down on our Heels yet. Granted, I'm still seeing a lot of the same issues that plagued last year's team, but they are very young this year and we're only 8 games in, not 18.

Kentucky is a broken team without Kanter. 3 guys trying to guard UNC's center today fouled out failing to do so.

Yeah. Terrance Jones needs more help. Harrelson and Vargas just aren't very good. Kentucky would look like a completely different team with Kanter.

Can UT get the type of production inside with Williams, Fields, Harris and Maymon that UNC got with Zeller and Henson? If so, we could have two conference wins against a team that should be in the top 25 all year but which needed Kanter to be a top 10 squad.

Knight and Jones are stud talents, but looking at this tape when we are preparing for them, I think Pearl will like what he sees.

Lamb shot like Lighty in the game or it is not an especially close one.

UNC at home did get a gazillion calls I would not expect UT to get at home though, much less on the road.

UNC's three starting forwards outscored UK's two starting forwards 52-13; UNC finished with a 34-14 scoring advantage in the paint.
