We won't be getting any of the track guys...especially jumpers. The new staff (track) is not making that a priority. We just had a former AAU JR Olympic gold medalist transfer out. The coaches are not focusing near as much on the men's squad and are completely abadonning the jumpers. Watch Justin Hunter closely...he may be a one-sporter after this upcoming outdoor season. LSU will be getting the track guys, for the most part.

Since receiving his LSU offer earlier this week, Fleming has named LSU as his leader.

Safe to call him a Tiger lock at this point, IMO. LSU is filling up it's class too fast, IMO. Depending on on the field success this year, they could have issues holding on to all these guys in the end, IMO.

Track guys who are football players are who we want. Just because you run or jump in track, doesn't mean you can play football, IMO.

Exactly...but what I'm saying is that the new Track staff isn't really putting a lot of their attention into the men's program. They're losing some guys to transfer. I'm told that they're neglecting the men's team a bit and that they have no coaching for their jumpers. I agree that those explosive athletes are the ones we want. I just think that we won't be getting the Justin Hunter's who are wanting to excel at both. What I meant by a one-sporter is that he may drop track after this outdoor season, due to the current state of the men's program. I think maybe you misunderstood my post.

Interesting, I thought our T&F teams were pretty stout in athletes and coaching. What happened??

I'm hearing that their top priority is the women's program. There is unrest on the men's side. Tyler Stepp is leaving the program after winning multiple state titles and AAU championships. Apperantly, he was getting no coaching. The jumpers were working out and training sans coaches. Clark and Co. aren't going to continue to get the elite male athletes. They've got a young jumps coach that, from what I was told, isn't that experienced or knowledgable. I'm curious to see how Justin Hunter's career plays out. I've heard he has 2012-2016 Olympic potential. I'm not really an insider or anything...this is just what I've been told by some folks close to the program.

Really weird, IMO. I had always seen the men's program doing well in the SEC and competing with LSU. Hopefully Hunter will understand he will has the potential to make millions in football and focus on that.

We actually finished dead last in the indoor championships....

We'll see how the men's team does this weekend. SEC Outdoors started today, I believe.

if he has potential to compete in the 2012 or 2016 summer olympics then I say he should go for that... Chances are incredibly more slim that he will make millions in football than they are that he will make millions off sponsorships if he is good enough to compete for the USA in the summer olympics.

LSU remains the leader but he is gonna take all his official visits and announce at the end of his season. He is also considering Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana Tech, Tennessee, UCLA, Oregon, and Ole Miss.

that's a very solid list. the louisiana tech consideration seems a little strange though.

Has some semi-serious off the field issues. Has good potential, LSU from what am hearing hasn't pulled the offer and he had a good camp I believe. I am not for sure they would take the commit at this time, so to me it remains wide open. To me I would be wait and see on this kid no matter what school you cheer for.

I feel kids should be given a 2nd chance but also feel they should earn the chance they get.
