Scout.com: DeMarcus Hodge Profile

“I was speechless,” Hodge told InsideTennessee.com Tuesday night. “It felt great; it’s by far one of my biggest offers so far.”

“Coach (Terry) Joseph called my high school coach today and my coach gave me the good news,” Hodge said. “Tennessee is definitely up there as one of my top favorites.”

“I’m excited about the Tennessee offer,” Hodge said again. “I can’t wait to take a trip to the campus and check out things first hand. I will definitely make a trip to Knoxville.”

Hodge received a Vol offer on Tuesday.

He also holds offers from Arkansas, Miss St, Memphis, La Tech, and Tulane.

His stock seems to just now be on the rise since he picked up both the UT and the Arkansas offers in the past 6 days.

Also, good to hear that after MSU & Arkansas offered, that UT's offer (same conference & technically level school) "left him speechless".

LV, don't know if I read enough of the 1st page on these player profiles last year since I was more looking for latest scoop. I don't know if this was included or not last year, but I like the Rivals quotes bits added in there to see where we stand now & give some more info on the player's stock/standing. Keep it up!

Forget Terry Joseph....put the SACKMAN on him! Chuck Smith needs to start putting the "Fear of God" into some of these kids like he did QB's back in his U.T. and Falcon days......what kid is going to say no to that stare down?

We need to jump on this kid. I feel like if we did we could gain a lot of ground with him. I think he'd be a great addition.

This is definitely great news. We need atleast 4 DTs in this class and this kid would be a great get out of talent rich Louisiana. I am crossing my fingers that Terry Joseph can a couple of kids from LA every year with his rep down there. I really want Mickey Johnson, but LSU will probably be tough to beat like they are for pretty much every kid in that state.

"I am still kind of looking to the SEC," said DeMarcus. "My top schools right now are Tennessee, Mississippi State, Arkansas and TCU, but I don't have a leader. I am just looking harder at those four."

In the past week or so, he has picked up offers from Texas A&M, TCU, and Louisiana-Monroe.

“I don’t plan on waiting around for an LSU offer at all,” said the Monroe native. “I don’t have any interest in playing football at LSU. I know how they do things with their roster. They promise you things and then when you get there things change. They play favorites a lot. It’s not like I’m saying I want to go to a school expecting to start right off. I want to compete for a spot. I’m just sick of always hearing about them.”

“The first one would have to be Arkansas,” said Hodge about his early leaders. “Then it would have to be Tennessee and TCU.”

haha I don't think he likes LSU.

seems we are in a good spot here. Arkansas is the only school he's visited so far.

Lol.. He talked bad bout Lsu. If the staff wants this kid we should have a great chance. Our depth a d-line should be an easy sale. Imo we can't pick too picky right now with decent D tackles.

That's funny but I am sure there are in-state players for every school that may feel like that. I am sure his leader will change with more school visits under his belt.

I think we are in good shape here. LA talent is usually promising, plus he plays a position of need for UT.
