Barring injury, he will be a star at UT.

This guy is going to be a star for us. He's one of my favorite recruits for sure. He's going to be an instant impact type of guy for us. Huge get for Vol nation.

In the first team passing drills of the morning session, it was obvious that Arnett was going to be making some big plays during the first West practice. Several times Arnett got himself in space either in front of or behind coverage, a few times in a position where he would make a score. Though he had a few drops at times, there is no doubt that Arnett had a very solid first practice getting himself in position for quarterbacks to make the big play.

No he can come back to school, the MHSAA completely screws over their athletes. If you play in some sort of all star game it means you cant come back and participate in any other high school sport. A kid on my team didn't play in it because he didn't want to miss lacrosse season. We also cant play teams within a certain distance from your school. I think the farthest we can travel to to play in a game is northern ohio. For my baseball teams spring break trip we went to disney but due to these rules we could only scrimmage each other and not play any other schools. Really sucks.

Can't wait for him to get here. Justin Hunter, Da'Rick Rogers, De'Anthony Arnett, and Vincent Dallas all out wide with Bray at QB and our OL being the same age. That's the future right there boys.

great article explaining the rule and talks about Arnett.

"I was sick to my stomach just watching them in the first (basketball) game," Arnett said. "It hurt so bad.

"These are the guys I've been playing with since the 2nd and 3rd grade. To not be out there with them is killing me. If I was out there, we'd win the state championship for sure."

Feel so bad for him. Other athletes it has effected are 2007 WR Ronald Johnson who went to Southern Cal and 2009 RB Edwin Baker who is at Michigan State. Baker was a force in hs. Ran for 300 yards against my hs team. Single handedly beat us.

Why don't they just make special exceptions like this since its a great achievement to be asked to play in the Army All-American game?

It's also a state rule that Michigan High School Athletic Association official John Johnson said no member school has proposed to change in his 24 years with the group.

Johnson said the rule represents a philosophical decision by the schools in the state - one where the team dynamic is valued over individual excellence.

I dont like it at all. I understand the team concept over individuals, but the seasons over its a completely different sport that theyd be going into.

if you guys get the chance, watch this game saturday. i dont think anyone in that game can cover DA 1 on 1. cant wait for this kid to be in orange. we've not had a slot rec like this kid in a long time. i cant recall seeing any hs kid cut out of a break as quickly as DA.

What times the game on? Im making the drive back to Knox from MIchigan Saturday. Planning on leaving at 6 am which would put me there around 2 pm, I may leave earlier though if Im going to miss the whole game.
