Read in the paper up here he's scheduled officials to Indiana, Cincinnati, Tennessee and Michigan State.

They appear to be his final 4 schools as well.

Looks like we are the only SEC team on his offer list.

“Michigan State, USC and Tennessee are all tied as my leader right now and the other two schools in my top five are Indiana and Cincinnati,” he said.

“I first met with their offensive line coach (Harry Hiestand) when I was out there in late winter,” Clark said. “We had a great chance to talk and they loved me even more after I worked out for them this summer. Tennessee has a great coaching staff.”

“I’ll probably get out to Michigan State, USC and Tennessee for my official visits,” he said.

Going to MSU.

Hubbs over on VQ seems to think the staff will only take 1 more OL & their saving that spot for Richardson.

I would very much agree with Hubbs' assessment.

For Donavan Clark, Tino Thomas, Zach West, and a number of others, the UT train has pulled out of the station. If they wanted to play for the Vols, they all should have committed when they had the chance -- but for them, that option has been closed.

A lot of elite athletes enjoy playing the recruiting game, but for second tier recruits, it is a dangerous game. One day they are enjoying delaying their decisions, but they wake up the next day and their options are seriously limited -- and the team of their dreams has already met their most basic needs and so now has the luxury of focusing their efforts on other, more highly rated recruits.

Montrell, you hear anything on his committment? UT or MSU?

Definitely Michigan State. I seriously doubt the Tennessee staff is all that high on him. I think out of his 6 finalists only Michigan State and Indiana were the ones that remained actively recruiting him.

Ohio State never offered, USC stopped talking to him months ago, Cincinnati and Tennessee have seemed to cool considerably on him over the last few months.

No way the guy is a 4-star prospect. I have to laugh everytime I see that. As you can see from my previous posts about him over the last number of months I'm not high on him at all. He plays at a horrible high school against terrible competition and from what I've seen of the kid he is out of shape and I think motivation is going to be another issue with him.

He says UT, MSU, and USC are recruiting him the hardest.

Already had officials set up to MSU, UT, and Cincy.

Bearcatlair has an update on Clark this afternoon. Basically says he is deciding tomorrow because all of his other schools on his list that originally offered (including Tennessee) him have stopped recruiting him. So he's Michigan State bound.

Kid showed up at OSU and put on a show. That said his flim is mostly of him mashing kid's who wouldn't make teams from the bigger schools. He's a solid 3*, who's really raw and will need time too adjust to D-1.

Yeah the competition he faces is absolutely terrible. D-IV in the Cincinnati area is really poor. It's not like areas of Northern Ohio where D-IV actually has some decent teams and players. Why didn't OSU offer if he was so good at their camp? I'm not doubting you but surely they would find room for a kid of his size if he was that dominate.

He's a G at the next level and we have 3 G's already commited. Plus with limited numbers it would have to of been a speical camp for an offer. Caught in a number's game I believe. That's why there was no offer to Ryan Kelly, a Bama commit, also.

Understood. Kelly is a much better talent than Clark is in my opinion. He is more explosive and athletic and has a better work ethic. Also, I think he's gotten much more sound advice and guidance from the people surrounding him. Clark just reminds me so much of Aaron Brown who came out of Princeton a few years ago. He was a major recruit a few years back and was a total bust. Do you remember him?

Yep. It was easy to see Brown busting though. The way his recruitment went was nuts. He had a 'little league' dad. Pop's thought he kid was awesome, gassed him up. So he just didn't put in the work.

Also side note, but Spencer Ware's recruitment was lead by Aaron Brown's dad. Guy hate's OSU lol.
