cornerback / receiver josh turner (oklahoma city, okla./millwood) is already holding over more than 20 scholarship offers, espn affiliate web site insidetexas.com reports.

"miami, alabama, oklahoma and stanford. Those are some of the ones who really standout to me right now," turner said. "texas is a great school. They're really high on my list right now."

florida, ohio state, nebraska usc, ole miss, oregon, florida state and notre dame are also under consideration. He is still waiting on offers from the buckeyes, gators and trojans.

Additionally, the two-way star does have one position in mind for the next level. "(the texas coaches) asked me where i wanted to play," turner said. "i told them i want to play cornerback. I see myself as a cornerback."

arizona, arkansas, auburn, colorado, kansas, michigan, missouri, oklahoma state, tennessee, texas tech, ucla, washington and wisconsin are among his other suitors.

Turner recorded 83 tackles, two sacks and six interceptions last season. He scored 10 touchdowns on offense.

Standardized tests are not a true indicator of how intelligent a person is. a 3.87 GPA is impressive, and should be viewed as such. A 20 is not a bad score, and it's not easy to take a test like the ACT or SAT.

Which is exactly why they are a true measure of intelligence. I know some scores will be off because of test taking anxiety, but overall they are on the money. A GPA can br misleading because of subjects taken and the fact that some teachers take athletes under their wing so to speak.

no they arent true measure of intelligence
no test u can take prep courses for in order to raise your grade is a "true test of your intelligence"

If you look at standardized test scores in areas where the school systems are crap, the scores will be crap. those tests are about preparedness more than intelligence.

Texas was starting to recruit Nick Waisome of FL, will back off now with Turner on board.

Waisome is heavily coveted by FSU and if Noles land him, it could go a ways in helping us swipe Kevin Grooms out of the state of Florida

Not that it is be-all and end-all, but a 20 on the ACT IS a bad score. It is NOT good.
