Funny thing about big steve is that his soph year he was playing rec, and when the playoffs started they had an injury on the dline and put him in at d-end. He only started the playoff games his soph year and was blowing everything up at the end position so they decided to leave him on defense this year. They still put him in around the goal line and throw him the fade.

For all the people dying to switch to a 3-4 in the future, that's the size you need at lb. Put, 15-20lb of muscle on him.

I know "Big Steve" personally. I coached him in 7 on 7 for a couple of years. I played at Daingerfield with some of his cousins. He is a beast. I know TX offered him this past weekend at their junior day, he did not commit cause he wants to continue to look around. Tx does dip around the area pretty often for kids. There are many on TX roster that are within a 25 mile radius of Daingerfield. His teammate Chris Jones (WR) is headed to TX and I know Chris will be trying hard to get big steve to come there.

I have not talked to Big Steve since their state championship game right before christmas but I will try everything I can to get him more and more interested in TN. It would be huge if we could land him. He is amazing to watch and just runs over everyone trying to block him. He won DEF player of the year in TX making him the 2nd straight LB from Daingerfield to win the award.

I will talk to him as much as i can and hopefully we can land him!

Dude, you coaxing him is a violation.....and you know the NCAA is watching....oh wait, KIFFIN is gone-you have the green light, go get him.

lol not coaxing him, i know he is gone this weekend to visit the sooners though. Stoops is around Daingerfield a lot. He wanted the rec and now is trying hard to get edmond. I know another prospect that is the #1 rec in TX use to coach him in 7on7 also. Yall check him out on youtube. His name is Trey Metoyer, told me he is hard on the sooners right now but I know he was suppose to go to Ole Miss last weekend so he has some interest in the SEC. We got to get on him!

Linebacker Steve Edmond becomes the 14th pledge for Longhorns

Steve Edmond (Daingerfield, Texas) committed to sign as part of Texas' Class of 2011 Tuesday, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.

Oklahoma, Arkansas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU and Houston also extended scholarship offers.

Edmond earned Second Team Class 2A All-State recognition as a junior after registering 184 total tackles.

So much for that.

this= not over at all. he might stick but it is not a "real" commitment. you dont have legit interest in other teams and then commit outta the blue and drop interest. not over.

what are you talking about? He's expressed high interest in Texas for a while now, this is hardly out of the blue. Its over

Very few Texas kids who commit there and then dont go (the ones that do are the exception.)

oh well. better him commit to the other UT now than on signing day after our staff has wasted a bunch of effort

Just another example of why recruiting in Texas this early is almost a waste. You simply have to wait for Texas to take the kids they want and then push for what's left.

Couldn't agree more...wish some of that time would have been spent on guys in the VA., N.C., and S.C. regions that haven't heard from the staff...

he very may well stay a longhorn, but i would be very surprised if he doesnt take visits to the schools he mentioned being legit interested in.
