'11 VA DT Corey Marshall

I wonder if he is actually only 6'2" and 239 lbs. right now? If so that could have something to do with it. That's pretty small for a DT, especially compared to the other DT's the new staff has offered.

Just from pure speculation, I agree... and Marshall is not a fat 240 either...he looks like a lb in his profile pics...

Yeah if those numbers are right that is about the size of Christian Harris, the LB commit. Maybe he has the frame to put on more weight.

Rivals has him as DE.

Scout has him as a 250lb DT and i would go towards what they say because they updates ht/wt more frequently than Rivals.

He reminds me of the JC Copeland build. 250 pounder who starts out as a DE and winds up as a 280lb DT.

Lets just hope he turns out different than ol JC did .........IF the kid commits. I STILL have a bitter taste in my mouth on that one.

Someone needs to tell this kid he dont wanna go to Mich or WV because Rodriguez is gonna have both of them in trouble. He might be slicker than Ed Orgy

Yeah JC put on weight unbelievably quickly, especially for someone who wasn't quite 6 foot. As for Marshall, he certainly has the offer list and he is 6'3" so I didn't mean to imply he didn't deserve an offer from the new staff.

"I'm down to five teams, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Michigan," he said. "They just have separated themselves and are the best options for me to start soon after redshirting. They provide great academics too. They all give me a lot of opportunities down the road and I've been very impressed by them."

- Rivals

still showing UT alot of love.

Even if this kid is 250 lbs he still needs to bulk up to be a DT but I guess he still has his SR year to put some more weight on before he goes off to college.

Was he talking about UT when he said this?

IMO. I took as those schools in his top 5 have separated themselves as his best options.

Ah I see now. I guess I took it that he was referring to one school. For example: "I really like school X. They provide great academics too. They all give me a lot of opportunities down the road and I've been very impressed by them."

My mistake guys

"They are in my top five," Marshall said. "I like the program. I got to know the old staff, and I've had limited contact with the new staff. They wanted to know if they were still in the picture. I came up for a game last year for the South Carolina game when they wore the black uniforms. "

we need to send ccs over there asap. this guy has mentioned several times that he likes ut but hasn't had much contact with the staff. seems like if we show him any attention at all we'll be back up near the top of his list.

A question that might warrant its own thread in the slow days of summer:

Will Dooley ever break out the black jerseys during his time here?

you will never see them under Dooley. not this year or 15 years from now.

i would be surprised if we ever see them again, sadly.

The kid is good but not that good. Did you guys not take a look at the Videos I posted of him getting abused. He is not SEC caliber plus he is too smal. Personally IMO he will go to VT where Smaller DL do well in the ACC.

We are in the kids top 5. However, after talking to someone in the know, this kid will more than likely go to Va. tech.
