'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

I've said this a lot in this thread, but I really really hope Cross sticks w/ this class. The kid is a straight BEAST w/ the ball in his hands. We need that type of back you can give the ball to 20-30 times a game & wear down the defense.

Hes rehabed well from the injury looked very strong during the scrimmage. He carried piles very well for extra yardage and saw holes and accelerated though them. I really believe he will be one of the top RBs in yardage in the state of GA this year I would say top 3.

Good news, thanks J Mo and I agree I hope he sticks to his commitment. I think he will be a wrecking crew at RB.

I know he's not the same type of player but I hope Fugate gets to deliver some punishment this year with some carries.

I really like Cross. He moves very very well for a back his size and hopefully by the time he gets here and starts playing our OL will be opening up holes for him to gash defenses. He and Lane would be a pretty solid two back system.

We need this type of back in order to turn all those 3rd and shorts into a new set of downs. I would love to get Cross in this class. He is definitely physically ready it seems.

To add: Cross said he has a good relationship w/ coach Joseph, they talk atleast once a week. The staff has NOT talked to him about FB, they have told him they want a bigger RB (power RB). Cross claims he is a legit 225 & is 230 depending on what he eats for dinner, he also ran a 4.53 this summer in the 40. He will NOT be a EE though. He also says he will be at a few games this season.

Maybe I am reading to much into it, but he still does not sound firmly committed. When he says PRETTY SOLID and not where I want to be RIGHT NOW seems a little uncertain. I like others hope he stays committed.

He said the other teams he looked at weren't where he wanted them to be right now. Not UT.

"I'm pretty firm with Tennessee," Cross explained. "I don't think there's really anybody else I'm looking to at this point. I'm a lot stronger with Tennessee."

"It's nothing in particular," he continued. "I'm just realizing what type of program they have and the opportunity that's over there. Over time, you learn more and I like what's going on at Tennessee."

Does that mean Virginia is entirely out of the picture?

"I wouldn't say that I've permanently ruled them out but at this point Tennessee is definitely the front runner by far," he concluded.

"I talk to him twice a week and thanks for bringing him up because I need to call him," Cross said. "We talk about what's going on with our teams. He's in preparation for the season. We just talk about football and catch up with each other. I really like coach Joseph. I have a lot of respect for him and he doesn't over talk you. He is plain and simple. There are no promises. I think he's a solid recruiter."

Big news. Kid is extremely talented and undervalued. If we miss on Grice, Cross will probably be our third string tailback this time next year.

Oh yeah....and I'm glad he's solid too...big part of this class
