He and Patterson would go a loonnnng way to making our 2012 and 2013 offenses national championship level offenses...we would have no weaknesses at that point...except maybe TE.

Clear could turn out to be a beast at TE. If he can catch he would be a huge mismatch.

TE is the only possible weakness for next year. But, I think we will have three major threats at that position next year.

It's scary to think that we could have bray, lane and grice at rb, clear at te, and rogers hunter Patterson croom arnett at wr with an experienced line

New rumor on TOS saying we are pursuing this guy because the coaches are worried about Clearinghouse issues with Marlin Lane.

Nothing like waiting till the last minute. Has Marlin not been on campus for quite a while now?

Doesn't matter. If you remember last year, they pulled Justin Hunter off the field right in the middle of practice due to an issue like this one.

I'm waiting to see if anyone reliable confirms this rumor. Apparently this is why Orta hasn't been grayshirted yet. There may be an academic casualty.

Well, I have been saying I would like to see Grice being a part of this class for a while....now maybe he is a must get. I think Poole will be the starter..but I could see Grice getting alot of carries.

Poole is a senior. Not sure what that has to do with Grice. But I am with you i would like to see us take Grice.

A 2nd year Lane and Grice could overtake Poole for the majority of the carries.

Those rumors were pretty much shot down by the Mods. Also they have been recruiting Grice for a number of months already, which would also make this "rumor" seem totally off-base.

Even if Marlin weren't to get cleared I dont know how it would have anything to do with Grice since Marlin would play at Tennessee no later than the '12 season when Grice would be first arriving.

Agreed. Hubbs said he had not heard anything about Lane having clearing house issues, and like you said they've been recruiting Grice for awhile now.

One of the reasons we are recruiting Grice, is it doesn't make the depth chart cluttered for incoming freshman. Grice will have 3 years to play 2, and it helps get us more upperclassmen leadership on the team. Recruiting JUCOs typically doesn't hurt us with HS players at all.

This. The senior starter is graduating, the JuCo help would immediately become the elder statesman, contribute for a couple years, and not give us 11 RBs in the same class. There's no downside.

This season the Buccaneers have one of the top running backs in the nation in Marion Grice, and the soon-to-be sophomore has early offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee out of the blocks. At 6-foot and 215 pounds, Grice is coming off a superb season when he rushed for 1,169 yards and 17 touchdowns, using his sneaky 4.5 speed once he gets into the open field. Grice will likely end up being one of the more decorated JUCO athletes in the nation in 2011, as Blinn consistently has a revolving door of scouts coming through the campus.

While his head coach couldn't say if his star was leaning any direction, he did admit the thought of playing in the SEC or Big 12 has always been a dream for Grice.
