Thank you. I guess I'll elaborate next time I try to get technical for some ppl...

This is what I want in our run game. To line up with two wideouts with the defense knowing we are going to run it and still punishing them for 4-5 yards. That's why I said tricking a defense to run nickel. Not to say that spreads don't work but it didn't work for Arkansas(who had three very good WRs) last year against Bama and LSU. If we can't run the ball on those two teams Bray will be in a body bag. Hell we better be able to run on UGA too. They punished Bray that game with us running for negative yards(Poole's sorry ass). Is that technical enough for you sir. I want to beat Bama and LSU not just Vandy.

I wasn't referring to you with that comment, sir.

It's not tricking by any means.. It's a strategic move to help loosen up the box for a running game and spreading the field is good for young ol because the protections are much simpler

I guess you could call it strategic. My point was that teams run out of three wide all the time anyway, so it's not some revelatory decision.

If you can run the ball you'll be able to score a lot easier with our WRs. The defense wasn't as bad as you think last year. Wilcox had some vanilla schemes that really hurt them, along with 3 and outs killin the defense. A defense that believes in our offense will play better. The defense will be better though. Especially if our Cbs can set the edge a lot better.

I would add that CJW failed to adjust during the game. Our d struggled the most after the half.

Absolutely, it comes with plenty of great benefits.
like french benefits?
Yes he can but he will be on the outside and Da'rick will move into to slot. The line-up with Patterson and Hunter on the outside and Rogers in the slot will be an absolute match up nightmare.
good grief that's gets me all giddy inside just thinking about it!

Da'Rick in the slot. He has proven he can take the big hits. Hunter and Patterson on the outside. All starters IMO.

We have a whole slew of back-ups this year. Actually it almost makes me laugh to have to call some of these guys coming in back-ups. I have a feeling Jason Croom is going to have a lot of playing time this year. Pig Howard could see the field a lot too. Not to mention the other WR's we have. As long as they all play to their potential or better, we do not have a depth probem at WR.

GO VOLS!
:clapping:

Don't forget to throw one of the big tight ends in there with Patterson, Rogers and Hunter. That's going to be 4 big weapons.

Idk if we have any real weapons at TE.. Serviceable at best either due to youth (Clear, Downs, or Meredith) or just being a marginal player (Rivera) but no real threats

Clear is going to be the one. He's huge and athletic. He'll get open because people will be worried about him run blocking and such. Plus he's 6'6 283lbs at TE. That's a load to deal with. I say run behind Clear, Tiny, and Thomas come time to get the tough yards.

Yea I see Clear coming to the fore front as the guy at TE but I'm interested to see Meredith and his development because I think he'll be the better pass catcher..

A lot like bama plays in their two TE sets I see Meredith's role similar to Brad Smelley's

Meredith is going to have to put on some serious lbs and be a serious athlete to come close to Smelley. Smelley's no slouch in the weight room and was a 3 sport athlete coming out of HS. Not only did he play qb but he pitched and played forward. I hope Meredith can be that type of player for us.

I mentioned that in another thread... if UT can't average 5 ypc running to that side, two things have happened...
UT finished the season 5-7 or Bray got hurt...
