'12 JUCO WR Cordarrelle Patterson (UT signee)

They are selling him on being the main guy at WR. All of their WR's are terrible other than Emory Blake.

Being the "main guy at WR" is great -- IF they have a QB who can consistently deliver the ball on the money and a system that emphasizes the passing game. Auburn has neither. If somehow he went there and began catching balls on a regular basis everyone they play will just double team him.

That is why it makes no sense for Patterson to opt for Auburn when Tennessee wants him. It is a no brainer, especially for a JUCO. Of course, JUCO's do not always make wise choices, but this one is so obvious that I have faith he will choose Tennessee.

VOP, I know you go to Auburn, but I was wondering what your position with the AD is? I trust you, I'm simply curious.

I don't actually work for the AD or the university in any capacity. I just know Trooper and some other coaches, beat writers, etc. from other work I do.

Auburn is not getting Patterson, I'm not sure why it's still even being discussed.

Darvin Adams and Emory Blake would disagree but that's irrelevant. The point was that your reasoning behind your original post was misinformed, just like this one. Cordarrelle likes Auburn's pitch, they are just being outrecruited by UT.

Auburn's QB attempting to pass me the ball...or Tyler Bray. I know where I would go.

I know I'm biased, but you have to love the idea of getting passes from Tyler if you're a top WR. Not to mention there are other good WRs on the team so you're not being doubled all game long.

The thing is he'll either get passes from Bray for 2 years or if Bray jumps for the NFL then he'll get passes from Bray for a year then his old teammate Worley for one year. He's ours imo.

I like reading this. Good stuff, VOTP.

You actually bring up a good point. Top WRs definitely look at the offensive scheme teams run. If they don't, well, I feel sorry for them. I've always said, if I were a top WR, I wouldn't go to a school like Bama or LSU. Everyone knows they will run the ball 75% of the time, if not more. I would go to a school like Oklahoma, Arkansas, or right now, UT.

There are exceptions, not rules. Julio Jones and Ruben Randle are those exceptions.

If I were an elite player and didn't have any particular favorites growing up, I would chose the team most likely to win a championship. Schemes are great, but if I'm an elite WR, even running teams like Bama will find a way to get the ball in my hands.

Not sure, but I think that is my first pre. Others usually do it. I just wanted a seat at the cool table

You're good, dude. It was actually a quote from a recent episode of Workaholics. They have a whole conversation about pre-ing. Good show.

Exactly. Bama and lsu aren't "running teams". They just find ways to put the ball in their best playmakers hands. It just so happens that alot of times that involves running. An elite wr would still get touches.

ridiculous. He won't even start next year.

Didn't say he would but it could happen and how would you know he wouldn't even start? He'll be an EE and have time to learn the offense through the off season so he has a solid chance at a lot of PT next year.

In other words, Auburn hasn't pulled out the moneyclip yet. I'd say checkbook, but that would leave a trail. I'm assuming since the NCAA can't find anything they're dealing strictly in cash.

Some of us said the same thing about Byron Moore as well. With Hunter and Rogers already in the line-up... let's not get too excited

Like I said previously I didn't say he would just throwing it out there. Was Moore an EE?

they are the only 2 wr takes left on the board. i think we will fill up our remaining spots with other positions if these two do not come here.... hopefully they just commit and we wont have to find out.

so if we get both of them do you think we will go o and d-line?
