Actually it wasn't at the time. New Era and crew were just bashing Elston before film was even out for Bell. I got more pissed off than anything. First time I saw his film I told him that his boy was an athlete. I asked who was he playing against and what not. Elston showed he was a big time player in the UA game. So it wasn't just ridiculous. He's better than Elston but it's not a like Elston is just so far behind this kid it's ridiculous. Elston is still a very good player in his own right. Wish we had went after him harder.

They never bashed elston just said bell was better. And they didn't need to see film it seems as though they watched him in high school. The coaches around the country seem to agree that bell is a much better prospect.

They were bashing Elston talking about this kid was better before he even had his first offer. I said at least let him get an offer first before saying he's better than Elston(who's no slouch at all). That's BS to bash this kid who har offers from a lot of the SEC schools as well and their boy didn't have an offer yet/ BTW you'll hear from Elston early and often for Ole Miss. He's a helluva player.If you watched the UA All-American Game you saw him making some big hits from the safety spot opposite Landon Collins.

I don't follow recruiting like you guys do but it appears you are implying that offers make a player better. I agree with the premise that offers usually are a good guide to say a player is good if that is what you are saying.

On the other hand I can certainly see a talent without any offers.

The way it went was everybody was talking about Elston. Then they come in there talking about don't worry about Elston he's not on the level of Bell(who was a no name guy then). I like Elston a lot as a player so I took offense to them bringing a guy up no one knew about and posting as if Elston was a trash little overrated player. When Elston is a very fine player. Has All-SEC potential as a CB if that's where he plays. He's also a decent WR who has very good ball skills and good top end speed. Now Bell turns out to be very very good and people want to go back and act as if oh you were so wrong now. We'll see what happens with them in college.

BTW: I do like Bell more than Elston but I feel both will be good players in college.

guys on rivals chat just said he compares to Landon Collins in play making ability. But they don't even have him evaluated at this point. kinda confusing.

But if he is anything like Collins i hope we can pull him.

well the other person they said with play making ability similar to Collins was Reuben Foster.

Foster is the #2 player this year, and Collins was the #17 player last year.

So where does that leave Vonn when he gets evaluated you think?

This may be one of the situations where Rivals won't admit they are clueless or in the wrong. They didn't bother evaluating Vonn in any depth while the top schools in the country were offering him. He'll be a four star and probably inside the 250. He should crack the 100, IMO. His film is crazy.

Nowhere did they bash Elston. All they said in regards to him is forget him because Bell probably will be a Vol next year, and he is elite. They were right Bell is better than Elston and a lot of coaches including Nick Saban agree. It's doesn't make you any less knowledgeable to admit you were wrong.

I hear ya man, but mccquay will be a 5star 2. I watched the tapes and both are great players, but i believe conner is being looked at more bc he's from S. Panola. mcquay can cover man 2man, come up on the run n flat out hit ya. I havent seen any man 2man tapes on conner. I also believe he's a lil faster than conner(not 4certain). I believe both are college ready doh!!!

Agree, it's like asking who would you rather have, Ed Reed or Eric Berry. At the end of the day, you have two amazing football players that are going to be great players in college.

My dad talked to Bell's brother a couple weeks ago. Brother said Bell loves TN, but he wants him to go to LSU. lol

Bell has stated that he wants to make his decision before his senior football season. So I would say we will hear something before this August.

LOL I don't know if he was just messing with my dad or what. Daddy had on his orange, as usual, and that's what got the conversation started. He told daddy his brother liked UT and that he might be going there, he had an offer. That's when daddy said "Who's your brother?" :) He said they talked about UTC basketball (that's where the brother plays) and when he was leaving Daddy said, "Well, I'd sure like to see your brother in orange," and he said "I'm telling him to go to LSU," and laughed. Never said a word about bama or any of the other schools recruiting him, other than he had received calls from several coaches.

I spoke with a young man that plays CB at Central HS today. His mother is a teacher at my son's school. He used to play FB with Bell before he went to Ridgeland and he told that Bell has always wanted to play for UT. He and his mother said they would be shocked if he went any where else.
