How is it florida can have a top 5 class and yet florida misses a guy and it's a failure.
Meanwhile, Tennessee gets a commit from someone no one ever heard of and Tennessee should be elated.
Florida still has an excellent class. I think VHIII may end up being a Top 5 NFL Draft pick. The guy has skills.
To answer that line of thinking. I do not agree that Tennessee should be held in higher regard for a lesser recruiting class, however Florida doesn't have to work nearly as hard as Tennessee for recruits. That has to do a little with on-field production and a lot to do with Geography. Tennessee talent is rising, but Florida, Georgia, Texas and California will always be easier to recruit in. So Florida is expected to have a little better class than Tennessee. So when Tennessee pulls a 3 or 4 star kid it is a great get and when Florida does it is expected (not that Florida still doesn't work for their recruits)...JMO
Have you so soon forgotten the Fulmer/Spurrier years? You remember how SOS in the years he won would insert a little jab about Fulmer's superior recruiting classes, don't you? How do you explain UT's superior recruits in those days?
Could be remembering incorrectly, but I thought Spurrier's recruiting jabs were usually directed at UGA. His ciTrUs bowl jabs usually were aimed at Fulmer/UT.
