'13 TN OT Christian Morris

Me either. By pull the trigger, I mean announcing a new top 5 of Buffalo, Detroit Mercy, South Dakota St., UTEP, and University of Denver.

Kids list has been all over the place.

It's been for show. Dude has been favoring tn for a while. He was trying to rack up more offers by being publicly open

I hope. Would like to see us Redshirt him as a Freshmen, allow him to gain strength & weight.

Now that we are finally getting some depth at a lot of positions, going back to the practice of red-shirting most of our incoming freshmen is the crucial next step and that is doubly true for both offensive and defensive linemen. There are very, very few, if any, true freshmen who can come in and play in the trenches in the SEC.

Due to a complete lack of bodies, Tennessee had no choice but to play its OL recruits a couple of years ago but every one of them would have greatly benefited from a red shirt year. The top OL recruit last year was Florida commit D J Humpries, who may play this year but he definitely needs a red-shirt year to get both larger and stronger.

I very much hope we are now in a position to red-shirt all true freshmen OL and DL recruits in the future.

Look at Clowney, who was the number 1 DE. He played some, but wasn't very effective as a freshman. I would love to have all of our non-EE and non-JUCO linemen redshirt every year, and often times even the EEs. That's when you know you have the depth needed to win in the SEC.

Seriously?? Did you watch him play any? Don't get me wrong I am not a SC fan (all Vol baby), but my wife and her whole family are, so I will watch them play sometimes (of course not when the Vols are on). Clowney was VERY impressive as a true freshman. He made some huge plays that changed the course of the game. If I am not mistaken, he is the one who sacked Murray and caused the fumble that Ingram took to the house for the deciding TD against Georgia. Clowney was very effective as true freshmen playing on the DL.

Yes, Clowney's not a good example though I understand the poster's point. Clowney was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and 2nd-team All-SEC after registering 36 tackles, 12 TFL, 8 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles.

Helped a little bit by the fact that defenses had to worry about Ingram, but still impressive

Going to eat crow on this one, I read the wrong stat line. I stand by my point though, very few freshmen contribute at a high level on the line.

This. Clowney had one of the better true freshman campaigns that I've ever seen in the SEC.

It will be interesting to watch Tiny and Clowney go at it the next couple of years. I am worried Tiny will have trouble with him defending the pass rush...we will see.

We've heard nothing out of this guy from our end in the past several weeks. I'd say our stock has fallen dramatically just based on the lack of buzz.

I don't know if we take one or two OT's in this class... have 2 OG's committed, and one OT that is near the top of our board(Jake Thomas) is close.

IMO, I'd hate to miss on this guy...Memphis East is sure putting out some serious talent these days that I'd love to have or keep inroads with!:hi:

When my boy Bobby Billingsley get that offer from anyone in my top 5 best believe we will commit that day lol

Realize he is enjoying the recruiting process and is says lol at the end of that - but starting get tired of reading these updates on him.
Who even knows who is in his top five from day to day.

How bout Billingsley gets an offer when he earns it.

How bout he just commit if he is close to doing so like so many think he is - so Pittman can stop wasting so much time
on his recruitment so he can spend it getting some of his future teammates.

Edit to add: Sorry - getting old & cranky -Just wish he would commit already.

Unless it is to engie's team. :)

Common sense resides in this post.

He and Billingsley are in Starkville today for the final day of our camps...

IMO Morris is looking for a package deal that he's not likely to get.

Per 247 article, Morris said he has a top 3 in his mind but he doesn't want to release it but that Tennessee is one of those schools. He will be back for the July camp just to tour the facilities & campus. He wants to make a decision in the next 2 months.
