Yeah Perry and Rayford are excellent slot players. Rayford is a little more polished in the short game but Perry is a big home run threat

With our misses at running back this class maybe we should have kept him in the fold. I like this guy and think we is an sec caliber back.

What makes you think they are excellent? That they have Vandy and other low level offers?

Didn't Vandy win the June recruiting award last year too? Two years in a row, impressive.

Wait till their recruits watch some of their home games, especially when it become UTs home away from home.

I aint even gonna hate. Vandy is doing a helluva a job recruiting even if it is early. I don't like Franklin as much as the next Tom, Dick, or Harry. But I give them credit.

Because Rivals and ESPN agree with me.

Do they? Those kids are three star-rated, correct? Do you think that means they are excellent players?

And do you think that it's more meaningful that Perry had some CUSA and SBC offers to go with his Vandy offer, i.e. no offers from big time programs? Or that Rayford's best offers were from Ariz State and Purdue?

I'll take all of those FACTS and interpret them to mean Perry and Rayford are average players. But hey, that just means their better than 95% of the current Vandy roster, so that's improvement, right?!

What does all this say about some of our recent pick ups?

Everyone in at least the South has seen Perry and Rayford. They've been at a ton of camps, both of the Rivals kind as well as a bunch of different schools. Having done all that camping, those two have the low-level offer lists they have.

Smith has attended 1 Rivals camp and then worked out for UT coaches.

So to answer your question, it says nothing.

Like Khalid Henderson. Our camps don't compare to the big boys.

You're preaching to the choir, man. I don't think our recruiting has been up-to-par either. I've been blasted on here for that opinion multiple times.

I'm just trying to be positive.

Do you get slammed like I do when you make posts like this? :)

I think Dooley has recruited pretty well given the on-field product the past couple of years. I would also add that Tennessee has historically, including under Dooley, started off slow in recruiting to close strong later in the recruiting cycle. Even with that being true, I am a tad alarmed this year because we have nine commits (with an anticipated smaller class this year) and we have the two Knoxville kids that had few to no offers before committing to UT and one or two other guys that were not hotly pursued by other programs. While Dooley has done a good job with a couple of under the radar guys (Devrin Young and, it appears, Cody Blanc), these are the exceptions not the rule. I hope that Dooley is out in front of the pack with the Knoxville kids and Zanca but it is concerning that UT is taking kids that are not being pursued by other quality programs. Offer lists mean that other coaches see good players and, without multiple offers to a player, it is difficult to see the players being worth the scholarship. I tell myself that Dooley and the coaches know more about football and have seen the players in person to evaluate them but I am still concerned. It is difficult to beat Bama, UGA, etc., when they take the players UT wants and UT is left with and takes the leftovers.
