'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

He said in the past that Brady Hoke is one of the main reasons they are his leader. He said Jay Graham is the reason we are even in the conversation. Both coach have used their in home visits, so assistants will be visiting him and his family. Idk how close he is to Michigan's RB's coach but I feel really confident with Jay Graham on this one to seal the deal!!!

I hope you are correct. He said he knew where he was going at the all American game but his tweet that was posted sorta makes it look like a coin flip.

"Green had four schools visit last week and is down to Michigan, Tennessee and Auburn.
"Last week was good because my family and I got to sit with coaches and ask a lot of questions," said the 6-foot-0, 220-pounder. "It's getting really close to decision time so now we're trying to get to know the coaches even more."

Last Sunday it was Tennessee doing an in-home visit.

"Tennessee was good, coach Graham (running backs coach), the tight ends coach, the wide receiver coach and the offensive line coach all came in," Green said. "It was a good visit and it showed how much they wanted me that they sent all those coaches. They showed me some film, told me they will be running a pro-style offense and how it fits my style."

After that it was Michigan on Monday.

"Coach Hoke came in with coach Jackson, my position coach, and coach Montgomery, my recruiting coach," Green said. "It's always good to speak to coach Jackson, we have a good relationship and he has a lot of history behind his name. Coach Hoke is a great guy and it was nice to have him and the coaches sit down with my family."

This does not sound very promising.

Talking about TN he said the RB coach,
the WR coach and the ol coach.

Talking about MI he said My position coach, My recruiting coach.

Has a good relationship with One coach on a staff, vs the whole staff which includes the head coach.... Hmmm

Like I said before. He may think he know one minute what he wants to do then be unsure the next. I think it is two horse race with him asking UT and MI to come this week. He has not decided or else would not take the time to do this. I think he respects both schools enough not to do this if he had his mind made up.

I think he is going to pick Michigan. When you start to refer to people as yours such as the position coach and recruiting coach, but distancing the relationship you have with other coaches show what you lean to.

Good pick-up. I think he has already told the coaches his decision, and is why we offered Keyante Green. Ford and Barber are still very much in play, so it only makes sense that Green is the one that caused us to offer Keyante. Michigan-bound.

Then why are we doing an in home visit if he has already picked? Why wouldn't he just not host anyone and then pick Michigan? I just think Keyante is a back up plan if he chooses Michigan

not sure how to feel now... I know we got a chance but defintely seems like UM has the upper hand. Literally, the hand. (The shape of the state for those slow with comprehension)

Really is more like a mitten. Kind of a sissy shape if you ask me.

Richmond (Va.) Hermitage running back Derrick Green is excited about his upcoming decision this Saturday as the recruiting process has been a long and arduous one. Last week Green hosted four schools in his home and came away with a lot to think about. Here's the latest.

Green had four schools visit last week and is down to Michigan, Tennessee and Auburn.
"Last week was good because my family and I got to sit with coaches and ask a lot of questions," said the 6-foot-0, 220-pounder. "It's getting really close to decision time so now we're trying to get to know the coaches even more."

"It's always good to speak to coach Jackson, we have a good relationship and he has a lot of history behind his name. Coach Hoke is a great guy and it was nice to have him and the coaches sit down with my family."

On Wednesday, Florida State came through making a pitch to get Green to take a last-second visit.

"Jimbo Fisher made an impression on us for sure, he gave me and my family a good talk and it was different," said Green. "He tried to set up a visit for me but I thought it over and I was tempted a bit, but it was too late in the game."

Finally, Auburn came in on Thursday.

"Coach Malzahn came in with the new running backs coach and they left a very good impression," he said. "We watched some film, talked about Auburn's running back tradition, especially with big backs and coach Bisaccia has NFL experience so that's good and he knows his stuff."

This week Green isn't sure when schools are coming in, but knows that Michigan, Tennessee and Auburn as well as TCU will be visiting.

"TCU is because coach Luper is now there and he was my recruiter at Auburn and I like him a lot," said Green. "But TCU isn't in my final three, it's Michigan, Tennessee and Auburn. I know my last in-home visit will be Wednesday and then I will take Thursday, Friday and Saturday to be with my family and make my decision."

Green will announce on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4PM EST at the Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Green is ranked as the nation's No. 1 running back.

So he told the coaches where he is going yet he is having them both come up one last time to talk to him this week. Come on baby avi. They are making preparations for him choosing the other school but would be stupid to send 4 coaches again to a guy who has told them he has choosen Mich 100 per.

Unreal cause he said my position coach and my recruiter people think he is for sure Michigan. He was explaining why those were the two to come, but for Tennessee he mentioned the whole staff cause Graham is his position coach and recruiter.

Not saying he isnt going to Michigan but to read into that interview that way is insane.

Especially considering the line he would have blocking for him here. I know this has been discussed but I did an average height\weight of our line last year compared to Mi. TN-6.4-318lbs, Mi 6.4-301lbs, not much difference but if I am correct they are losing three starters compared to our one. I expect our line to be beastly this year.
