'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

I doubt that would be the case. Green does want to be the headliner, but Michigan already has a back committed, where Ut does not have one at all. I think CBJ wants 2 backs for depth reasons. D. Green will obviously be given first dibs on reps and the other back will be given a chance for some as well. With there only be 3 backs of consequence 2 juniors and a senior on the roster, Tennessee needs to take 2 backs this class. And if Green truly feels confident in his ability he should know that no other freshman will take his reps. It should also be noted that all three of Neal, Young, and Lane have dealt with injuries. So any new back will have a great opportunity.

I think if we landed Green and say Ford, Devrin would move strictly to kick and punt returns.

That would be a great combo. I think Devrin would then only be used in special teams and maybe a utility role. I think Devrin has only seen work thus far because of the lack of production and lack of depth. If we get two backs and have a solid 4 backs on the depth chart, Young would not be needed to stretch himself thin.

Well seeing as most of these kids love the attention and want followers I think its ok. They want people showing them love or they wouldn't have public Twitter accounts and wouldn't retweet fans.

I see nothing wrong with it. As long as it's just mentioning UT and or tossing in some reasons why Tennessee would be a good fit, I think it's fine. When it gets to begging them and or fighting on their twitters with other fans is when it gets out of hand. I would also say I think all the fake girl twitter accounts from random schools promising the recruits a "good time" if they commit and come back is just craziness. The guys doing that stuff really need some help.

I think DY would still be involved in a good deal of the offensive scheme from slot to situational rb. He and Pig will be used interchangeably imo.

More than likely the staff would ideally like to take two quality RB in this class... They don't have a sure thing with Green, so they are planning as if he will go to Michigan, so we aren't stuck with nothing, or a RB that is sub par.

This was my assumption too, but wanted to get other people's takes as well. I for sure do not feel as confident as I did two months ago, but still hopeful.

Your right. I think you would have to be a UT offical for it to be a violation, and I'm not 100% sure it would be even then.

no he's not. Argue with the enforcement but it would be a violation if the NCAA ever wanted to pursue it

Auburn trails in the Green sweepstakes. I believe Green has an idea of where he will commit, but is still evaluating this week. Considering Folston's the only prospect to visit the new staff, that makes him the current most likely to sign. Bryant visited in the summer, but that was a previous staff and until he officially visits the new staff, his chances are low. Barber and Ford are interesting prospects. Both hold Auburn offers, but have a number of other programs making late pushes for their signatures. Depending on the decisions of Green and the feeling from within the Auburn program on Folston and Green, Barber and Ford may become priorities.

AU Rivals -

I hope the Auburn vacuum cleaner demonstration goes horribly awry.

I don't think Green is going to Auburn, but he has shown some interest (to what level is anyones guess) and the Rivals guys know that AU fans are just as ridiculous as UT fans are when they think they have a shot at a top prospect. Therefore, by putting AU's name in the mix means the crazy AU fans will flock to their site to see what is up. That is all that means, IMO

Go Vols, I'll hang up and listen

Agreed. Michigan/UT battle. With Rivals playing to another homer fanbase.

NCAA just deregulated Twitter, Facebook, etc. It was a violation. It now is not. Including texting and calls.

Actually, Facebook has never been a violation.

But, in hindsight, the NCAA rarely does anything that makes sense. They can turn anything into a violation.

We might pull him,but I think it's a long shot. The only thing that has me thinking 30% is the fact his mother wants him closer and he's known CJG 3 plus years
