Kelcy Quarles, the highly rated DT from Greenwood SC, a couple of years ago said the same thing. He was rumored, predicted, and slam dunked that he would be attending USCe. He stated, "I am going to shock the world!" Essentially, trying to throw off anyone who "knew" he was a slam dunk to USCe. He ended up at USCe (of course after Fork Union Military Academy). Recruits making the comment "Shock the World" has lost its' luster with me. :bs:

It would make alot of sense if your were a recruit to use your 5 OVs on places further away from home. Just because you did not OV some place, does not mean they are out of the running IMO. UOV make the most sense closer to home where the family can pay the cost themselves.

Ok Thanks I missed that. Shocking the world has UT all over it. Especially with most saying he is UM bound. Especially recruiting guru's. Still really like our chances.

I think this can go one of two ways. The first way, is as expected. He goes to Michigan. Sucks, but we didn't have our hopes up anyway. Or the second way. He picks up that Orange hat with a Bright White POWER T on it and puts it on his head. It means Butch knows what he's doing. It means Butch came to play, and it means that there is more 5* firepower to come.

Or it would mean he just likes UT. Whatevs'

I guess but its not like its something thats commonly said by recruits. Just dont hear it that often honestly. Either way its either UT or UM and way to closs to call.

The shock would be him picking UM. He says he is going to shock the world...... which makes people think it probably wont be UM since they have been considered the favorite all along. So it would actually be more shocking if he does indeed pick UM. Now i've confused myself.

The only "shocking" committment I have seen is when Calvin Smith chose New Mexico after Kiffin left

These kids throw the "shock the world" statement around just for obsessive adults like us to tune in.

Lol, that definitely wont be a shock but I get your point. Either way I am glad it will be over one way or another by tomorrow so we can celebrate or focus on the ones who want to be Vols.

Not to try to kill the vibe, but I'm pretty sure after saying he would shock the world, he ended the tweet with lol. Sounded like he was making fun of the tired phrase to me. Still hope he's a Vol, but I don't see that tweet being some kind encoded message that should be overanalyzed.

You're right. Without money, there's no way these kids would be turning down the opportunity to play Indiana, Minnesota, and Maryland on the prestigious Big 10 network.

With that said, it's a shame for the sake of Michigan and Ohio State that their once prestigious conference is a good five years away from even having a chance at restoring past luster -- at no fault of their own.
