'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

They are treating him like table scraps.

We made him a priority from the beginning & have kept tabs on his grades to help him get eligible. I hope he can see the absurdity of "they might offer" and not throw himself at Auburn or Miami, like a high school girl whose crush finally took a glance at her

Remember, Tennessee committed to YOU first. These other teams are still playin' the field

Appropriate though. Well said.

Aw, come 'on. IF you are going to imitate Sab at least show a little passion. We are waiting for the jilted lover emotions.

At some point Butch Jones is going to have to show that he can hold onto these elite players. He failed that test with Lambert. He has, however, won several others. Holding on to Bryant will be a huge test. He's got to win more than he loses when it comes to holding on to elite prospects. Our competition is only getting stronger. Time will tell if he can get the job done on a consistent basis.

I'm not too worried about losing Bryant right now, especially with Evans trending heavily towards AU.

Come on man. Butch is recruiting a hell of a lot better than what has been brought in in a long time. I think Butch is definately proving he is doing a good job bringing in elite players and hanging on to them. Lambert is one player, granted he is a stud but this happens in recruiting. For Butch to have held this class together with a losing season, a program that has been down, and being recruited against for numerous valid reasons by other schools he is doing a damn good job. Rome wasn't built in one freaking day and neither will this program being back to the top. A lot of great things are happening but Butch needs time and not to have everyone doubt him over one player deciding to commit to another school. Go Vols!

This is why you see them keep recruiting and trying to add guys to better the class or keep a good class. You never know what a kid will do until he signs.

If we lose this cat and add Adoree, then it would just be another way the numbers work out. Hope he sticks but an Auburn or Bama offer was always feared.

Go Noles. If Lambert did not teach you anything it should teach you this. Other Sec teams winning championships help them more than it helps us.

I was curious about this as well

People over-exaggerated their relationship. Cherry actually committed before Bryant, so I dont see why people think if Bryant flips, we are in trouble with Cherry

"I got in good with some of the recruits in my class and I think I fit right in up there," Bryant said. "I talked to Cecil Cherry. I got to know him real good." - VQ when Bryant committed

Yea I had never heard of a real Bryant - Cherry connection. That's why I was confused by the other guys post.

Keep in mind, he grew up a Bama fan not an Auburn fan. Not saying this would matter if Auburn rolled out a briefcase full of money. But all things being equal, I like where we stand.

Great post. This is what I was remembering. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Cherry is a B.A.

Every single program loses players that they wanted before NSD. Look at Bama this year. They've lost a few
