"It was nice knowing how much the appreciated me to let me help celebrate his birthday. It meant a lot," Bryant said. "It was really exciting."

"I walked in the freshmen and sophomore dorm rooms and all the guys treated me like they had all known me for fives years and we had known each other our whole lives and then I got to see the stadium and stuff. I just felt like I was at home."

"I went to coach Thig's office and watched film and just showing me the basic stuff they run. He was showing me some plays and he would ask me what I'm supposed to do and I would hit the nail on the head with the answer.

“it went great. It went just how i wanted it to go. It felt like i was at home[.] i went to all the top restaurants up there, and the coaches treated me well and showed me love. It gave me a better feel than i had the last time, because last time i didn’t do too much. I just got to tour the buildings and all that with the coaches. I met the coaches not only on the field, but outside of the field, and they treated me the same.”

“my mom, dad, grandma, granddad and an uncle (came with me),” bryant said. “they were telling me, ‘go on and get the papers now. Go on and sign.’” “all the coaches were around me the whole time i was up there. Coach jones, he was with me every time we ate,” bryant said.

“me and coach thig’, we got to sit down and talk,” bryant said. “me, coach thig’, my dad, my granddad and my uncle, we all sat in the office talking football, and he was telling me he might use me at any of the starting linebacker spots, because i can play all of them. He said it could be any one of them — whichever one fits me the best.”

“i don’t see that changing,” he added. “i want to get on the field early, and i know auburn’s deep. Miami ain’t too deep. But it’s just something about tennessee that’s got me there.”

Really glad that it looks like I'm going to be dead wrong on this one. I thought Bryant would never be a part of this class. On the one hand I thought he wouldn't qualify. On the other I thought even if he does then Auburn or Bama would step in and that would be all. Just never have much faith getting guys out of that state.

So excited that it looks like he is solid to us. He is a game changer. He could come in and compete with JRM, Weatherd and others for that 3rd LB spot.

Thig makes 345,000.00/year. IMO Butch needs to bump him to 450,000.00/year. Would put him just behind our OC/DC's salaries. I think he is worth it and would show him UT is not playing around when it comes to paying for a job well done.

This is huge. Whats more impressive is the coaches identified a guy close on grades. They helped make sure he got on a plan to make it.

Thats a huge plus to the this staff imo.

Just get him in school. Been a long time coming for an athlete like this to line up at LB for us. Ready to watch him crash dummy some RBs. Now to get some DTs to keep him free all game.

I've been holding back on getting too excited about this kid with the speculation of grades and flipping but after reading these quotes, aww hell!! It's on now. This kid is the real effin deal at MLB. He will contribute immediately on special teams for sure but I could see a legend in the making at backer. Great instincts and speed. He doesn't take the pain. This guy delivers the pain!!! Awesome get for our "D"!!

It goes without saying again how I feel about these recent quotes and his visit. I am Al Wilson type pumped over this. Get in school Gavin. Do whatever it takes, just get there. UT has a history of great LB's for decades and you need to be one.

Going to have some head busters at linebacker again with Jakob, bates, Bryant and berry. Weatherd bringing the edge rush... I would mention Mouhon but if he is already scared then he won't ever see the field when its time to grind
