'14 AL RB Bo Scarbrough

Biggest problem with getting this kid is that he's basically in T-town. But he's also injury prone too. He's had a big injury his last two years. He's got to shake the injury bug.

Rankers heard he's visiting Florida for Friday Night Lights......opposite of the Bama bump. Go ahead and downplay a kids talent in preparation for a possible de-commit (although in this case, he's not gonna de-commit).

1 of just a few players to lose the 5th star on 247.

Had to do with where he ends up I believe. Even though 247 has him listed as a ATH most their articles regard him as a RB. But this summer at events he is playing WR. He has hit the gym and is now 6'2 235. Also not sure why he did not go to the Opening this year. He was there as a junior last year.

In other words, had he continued to workout as a RB, he probably could have maintained his status (since he is probably a little smaller than Hurd, who is still a 5*).

Maybe but who knows. There is always a lot of movement within the ranking during summer with camps and combines. The better rankings are usually after the season(last ones) when the camp warriors are weeded out and the players who make it happen on the field show out.

J Hurd was a 4 star this time last year with 247 but after his season that raised him to a 5th, which I know came in the spring but it was mostly because of his fall performance.

To many kids gets huge bumps for competing in controlled environments that favor them. Cam Robinson went to #1 player because of the Opening, but yet he was not able to compete in some events that required pads like the Run blocks drills other lineman at the Opening did. Some LA rule that does not allow HS players in the off season to participate in specific drills.

He's rated about right. 5 star athlete but a 4 star player due to injury issues and misuse of his size/strength. Guy should be an absolute beast but he plays a very finesse game for a guy of his size(he's a really filled out kid in person). Plus he's gotten hurt in each of the past two seasons.

Yeah the injuries have hurt him, but if he has a solid year without injury he will get bumped it probably.

Didn't see it posted here, but he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.

I heard Saban made some really nasty threats to Bo and his family (especially his uncle).

He just attended FNL for UF. I think he ultimately flips.

ha.. The comment about Saban and nasty threats is not something I have heard but I guess anything is possible if he thought this move means he will flip.. as far as we know he transferred because his grades are horrid and IMG is a diploma factory. The Bama staff was aware of the situation and talked with him and family during the decision period. They know that is the only hope he has to qualify... even now it is looking more and more like he will not qualify.

As far as flipping - it is definitely possible and maybe likely.. he has been flirting with UF for a while. If he wants to play RB he might as well flip because it is not certain he will be a RB for Bama. As of now his momma is still in Tuscaloosa so we will see how that part plays out - if she moves I think it's clear he is gone.

As much as it pains me to say it UF has higher academic standards than UA and UT. He won't flip to anything other than JUCO.

I hate saying I agree with a gator fan cause they get a lot of 5* too but. if he was 100% committed to saben he would get moved on up to the 105 ranking a cant miss nfl star.

Heard from a friend in Fla that he transferred to get help with WR switch..Chris Weinke will be IMG's HC and vows to make him a 1st class receiver if he works at it...
