Well heck. On fourth down might as well just run the 50 yards to the end zone and take the safety on the last play. That would easily have run out the clock.
True but the QB threw the ball right away - did not take any time off the clock - you at least run around for a while.

The ASU coach deserves to lose. The ASU players and fans don't but still trying to understand what I watched!

Wow! 2 more yards and they would’ve pulled it off!! if they had called intentional grounding on Arizona St….

The fact that ASU walked away from that entire situation without a penalty is ridiculous. The potential grounding, the fans storming, their coach acting like a toddler. So stupid…

Ok so I get those 2 parts and don’t entirely disagree.

But this one…it wasn’t like the clock was stopped with 3 seconds and the fans chose to rush the field. From what I understand, the refs, teams, fans, everyone thought the game had ended and all the time had run off; it wasn’t until a review was buzzed in and 1 second confirmed left on the clock that it became, in retrospect, official that the game hadn’t ended…why should they be penalized for that, in that situation?
