I think there's room for whatever info u have

Don't get me wrong. I love the responses to the marvels of weight lifting prowess and there is plenty of room for my zero info. Just don't see the reasons for a thread to go this far off topic for so long. It doesn't affect me just thought I would throw it out there. So back to weight lifting...?

It's just what happens when there isn't any new info.. Only so much u can say until new info does come out.

I understand. Sometimes the paddles might have to be used to bring a thread back from the brink. However, on the topic at hand it is almost time to hit the gym.

I have ask this over and over about most recruits over the last 5 years do they ever lift weights .There has been just a handful in that time that has impressed me. Most guys I look at can barely bench more than they weigh and can not squat very much either. you would think that there would be some country strong guys or something . I did not play football after my freshmen year because it was a waste of time cause I do not like to loose and my freshmen year we lost at Webb 7-6 and lost 4 or 4 more by less than 10 and Gatlinburg Pitt beat us by 25 we won 3 games. I did not think that I was big enough to play in collage at 5"11 180 but last time I spent in weight room was beginning my senior year and I was benching 385 5 times squatting 700 coaches would not allow me to try more than that but I was leg pressing 1000 pounds and I walked around the weight room with 500 pounds for 5 minuets at a time stepping up on my tip toes. and I ran a 4.6 -4.7 40 and to see 6,5 265 pound guys benching 325 and squatting 425 is pitiful to me I could reach down and grab 300 pounds and lift it as far over my head as my arms could reach. Guys like big Dan Williams impressed me though.

I bet if he wasn't carrying the 500 pounds of weights on his shoulders he could have run faster than a 4.6 40, probably closer to 4.15 or 4.2. The coaches should have been fired for not letting him squat 1000 pounds IMO.

This was hilarious. Thanks for the chuckle. You never mentioned how much you power cleaned. That is probably the most important lift a football player can do to gauge how their strength will translate on the field. I'm going to take a stab at it and say that you power cleaned...... a Buick? If not, I'm sure you would have gotten it if the coaches had let you try.

Coaches wouldn't let him power clean after he lost his grip on that one rep and threw 500lbs through the ceiling.

I'm just curious how his school was allowed to purchase a Buick for the weightroom? Did the funds for that come out of the athletic departments budget or from Drivers Ed's?

Well who wouldn't want a Buick as part of their weightroom anyway? Maybe if we had one we could make studs like Volfan414life out of mere freshmen. Now how to get that through the accounting department is the reason for my couriosity to answer your couriosity about my couriosity.
