'14 FL LB Greg Miclisse

he says he THINKS he is committing. i bet he calls CBJ, we tell him no thanks, then he ends up somewhere like Cinci or NCState

I've always wondered what that conversation is like when a coach turns down a commitment, especially from some that really wants to play for them after building a relationship. Must be tough.

He's not "bad" and unathletic. Someone that badly wants to be on your team will take coaching unless they're total dimwits, which he is not. The staff will do what they feel is best , but I just hope we don't get too cocky too quick and shoot ourselves in the foot .

Being "not bad" doesn't cut it anymore. Under the Butcher, if you ain't a Grade A stud, you ain't a Vol.

These are his offers..

“Right now I have six offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan State, Connecticut Louisiana Lafayette and SMU,” said Miclisse. “It is a blessing to me that I am being recruited by all those schools all over the country and I have more and more schools calling me every day.

Not sure why 247 she's a lot more offers.... Is that quote old?

Greg Miclisse Recruit Interests

that quote is recently new. since then i think his only offer is NCState but who knows if its legit. when a recruiting site lists an offer, that means the recruit told them that school had offered. some kids cant tell when a school has actually offered. some people think he said those schools offered, so he could get publicity. but when it comes down to it, he said on twitter that he had a top 7. it was the 6 schools in that quote and UT. his top 7 included ALL of his offers and then the school he wants to go to

There must be a good reason why Butch and company has not offered this guy. I am pretty sure they know more about evaluating talent than all of us combined. Trust the Butch.

This^...it's not being cocky to not take a flyer on a player with substantial potential...who loves the Vols...we're just running out of space...and quickly...name the player in our class who is off attitude wise...who deserves to be jettisoned to make room?...me neither

Are you serious with that first comment?I honestly don't know. I don't want to speak for you but I hope we don't take commitments from players who "aren't bad or unathletic". I want players who are good/great and very athletic. And I don't think it's being the least bit cocky to not take commitments from players who aren't bad, especially at this point with our class only have about 10 spots left while there is so much time left.

This staff is tearing it up in recruiting right now and they have earned the ability to be selective and only take commitments from the players whom they have at the top of their board. This isn't the Dooley era anymore (thank God). We aren't scrambling at the end of the recruiting cycle trying to fill spots with the players who are left.
