If he's scared to come in and compete, he can look elsewhere. We need players who aren't scared of earning their spot.

Agree and i like Booth's attitude to be honest. Players and people in general have to welcome competition in every sport and life in general.

I think the mistake in all this is the staff telling Booth to wait IF they have already taken his commitment. IMO, be right up front with things and don't make it look like your cutting deals behind your committed players backs. It kind of looks shady and it's not what CBJ and staff preach.

If the staff knew Lee would possibly look around if they took Booth, surely they had to know taking Powell AND Booth would be a huge issue with the kid. Maybe they are willing to take the chance on losing Lee to get the other 2. I have no clue. Either way, they need to sit down with Lee and explain to him how he can be used in the offense.

Lee is not rated as high as the other guys. Maybe it's just a case of him looking at rankings and thinking he won't have his chance to shine. It's on the staff to show him otherwise.

I would be careful using the word scared. We have no idea what the coaches have told/promised these kids. I know if I were a recruit and the coaches said I am taking "X" kids at WR so we want you to commit now, and they take 2-3 more, it would be cause for concern. Maybe he is concerned with the depth chart. Maybe things are not playing out as explained to him when he committed. Could be a lot of things. Hope they get it worked out. I don't want to lose ANY committed players. These guys are forming a great bond and Lee was there and a part of this past weekend.

Exactly. You can use the word "concerned" instead if you want.

If he does commit then Booth will go public immediately probably. I wanna keep lee but if you're that weak mentally then why come play w the big boys?doesnt matter if you go to UK there will still be competition. Makes no sense to think like that if you wanna be big time.

how can you call this kid weak or scared for rethinking a committ into a class that is WR heavy behind an already young corp of WRs? people said that Kamara was dumb for joining a class at Bama that was RB heavy. these kids just cant win in the court of fan opinion.

I've seen way too many good players screw around with the opportunity to play at UT and end up at Carson-Newman, UTC, etc. and eventually end up on the street. 5 star James Banks is a perfect example of millions of NFL dollars LOST by being undisciplined and stupid.

Call it whatever you want, but if he decommits because we pick up other WR's then he is "scared"/"concerned"/"unwilling to accept the competition".

Is it too much that fans want players who live for competition rather than avoid it? :ermm:

I do think it's telling he removed UT commit from his Twitter. No reason to do that unless there is doubt. No feelings one way or the other about it though. Butch will get us a great class.
