So there's a stagnant body of water nearby. I'm really not sold by that. I'd probably think that area was beautiful if I hadn't grown up at the foot the Great Smokey Mountains, though.

If I do a Google image search of "Clemson" I get some disturbing images. I suppose it is linked to this story.

Some kids want the small town. Clemson has a beautiful campus, a lake, a passionate fanbase, they've been winning more than not lately, it's close to home for many, and most of all they have very good recruiters.

Agreed, they also have a great home game atmosphere.

I never understood why our fans act like it is shocking when they land a good player..especially on Offense.

Honest question here: What attracts kids to Clemson?

It is really isolated geographically. It reminds me of the creepy summer camp in a slasher movie and I grew up with a National Park as my backyard. Even if you are a country kid, you go to college to accumulate experience. One of the selling points on their website is that Greenville is only 45 minutes away!!! Are you kidding me? Greenville!!! lol:


There is so much more to do in Knoxville, the women are a lot prettier and there are a whole lot more of them.

Clemson's student body is 54% male. That's unheard of these days when lots of schools are 2 to 1 female. Women must be as creeped out by that place as me.

Even UT, which has lots of male-dominated majors is 51% female.

Anybody know why anybody would go to Clemson when they have offers from UT and UGA? I just can't get my brain to process it.

Clemson has one of the prettiest campuses in the ACC, and if they were in the SEC they probably would have the prettiest.

Some folks lack the ability to see the world outside of the simple viewpoint of what they like or were raised around. Hard for them to realize other people are raised with different values and viewpoints.

Exactly. I think most of us are just geeked that he isn't going to be playing against us every year.

But I'm not going to run around with my tail on fire or ask the mods to pull down this thread.

I wish the kid the best. I hope he has a great college experience and either gets a degree or an NFL paycheck, if not both.
