The league is going to be made tougher by no divisions and by adding 2 teams that are on the rise right now. Before, we could hope for the East being "down" at times, and could back into the championship game. Now, its going to leave little room for error. The league is going to cannibalize itself in the sense of, there's gonna be a lot of REALLY good teams that have 2 conference losses or so.

Aside from Vandy, there really isn't a program that is undoubtedly bad.

Winning the SEC was already hard, but it's going to get even harder.

Everything you said is spot on, but there will be a lot of teams having “down” (arky, fla, aub, uscE, & miss st) years this season that we can beat up on and accumulate wins yoy.

I will admit that if they take a step back it is likely due to poor development of his own guys, which is a major red flag.
Look what he did with what may have been the weakest 65 players in division 1 football in 2021 & 2022. He went 7-6 and 11-2 with a group of inherited players that had lost 28 players to transfer or quitting. Thanks to the portal he has built things up much more quickly than anyone ever believed Possible. Tennessee is in very good hands in my opinion.

Heupel is the best coach we’ve had since the early Fulmer years . I would take him over Fulmer. Fulmer won with talent because he recruited so well. He wasn’t a genius. Heupel has won with less something no other coach for Tennessee has done except Kiffin. People saying Heupel shouldn’t be here in a couple of years if he doesn’t win the SEC is stupid.

Next year is going to be tough to have a really good year IMO with all the (likely) losses but there are only 3 tough games next year. They could still sneak in at 9-3.
2025 is my make or break year for Heupel. Now I don't demand he get over the Saban/Kirby hump and make Atlanta. It took Kirby awhile to get over Saban and now there are 2 dynasty type schools. But Heupel needs to be extremely close and in Atlanta by 2026.
Need to shore up some positions- particularly interior DL. Do that... and the Vols are better next year than this and possibly the best team Heupel has produced.

For all of those saying they are only giving coach and staff 2 more years, who do you put on your list to replace him with? I am really curious who YOU unhappy/much higher expectation people will be happy with?
Excalty,Josh is the best coach weve had since Fulmer glory days! Some people are just unrealistic!

Hey Other Guy you sure your not Other Team
How dare anyone post a logical explanation of why a coach doesnt perform in year 4, right after they made a hopeful post of making the playoffs next year despite losing the house in terms of experience.

Some of our “fans” are stupid AF. Heupel has had the best couple of years in two decades and inherited a dumpster fire that no one wanted. We were ranked #1 last year.

Well I think our lineman recruiting has been a little concerning. We lose a lot on both lines, so we will need to get a few good ones out of the portal. Everywhere else we should have good quality depth at this point.

I agree. But I don't see that happening. The sniff test says that we are improving across the board. Defense is significantly improved and if we get the secondary straightened out, we will be on par with GA and AL defensively speaking. the offense as a whole isn't as dazzling but have not truly regressed. It simply morphed into an animal that most of us didn't see coming. I believe that Milton is the weak link. I believe that Nico will step in and be a modest improvement. He won't be Hooker year 1 as the starter. But he will be more accurate right out of the gate.
We pull a few more portal stars and we are going to be monsters next year. We need to pick up a couple of o line men and a couple of receivers that are proven, ready to start studs and the SEC is gonna have trouble. That O line next year could be a problem. We are a different team with Cade in there. Without him, we need a new anchor.

We lose experience in the Oline, but we have a lot of red shirt freshman and sophomores just lying in wait--some BIG fellas, at that. The lines will be younger, but still guys that have been with the team practicing and developing in the system for a couple of years.

Might get some calls our way this week so they can ensure a 1 v. 10 matchup the following week with UGA lol

AP is a joke with biased reporters. Coaches poll has always been closer to playoff poll.
