This. The interior of our line will have some bad mofos on it. The definition of big nasties.
My only concern is at Center. I'm not sold on Crowder. He's somewhat undersized, and I haven't seen anything from him that flashes SEC talent. That may come, and he may grow considerably more between now and next fall. I hope we develop or recruit someone to challenge him for the job.

Coleman Thomas is/and will be a stud center. But Mack's super smart, he can definitely get it done on the inside.

I love how everytime a prospect de-commits, a new prospect commits like the very next day. Also, D. Blair is a beast.

So glad we got D. Blair. He's got great measurables and will likely see the field early next year, especially if he is an EE.

He is an early enrollee and, even better, has three years of eligibility to play two.

All Pro VFL Scott Wells says "hey".

Scott is an inch shorter and weighed the same as Mack in his early playing days at UT. Folks forget that Stone has lost weight down to the 290-295 range. In this offense you need mobility at center and guards in particular. You need big guys with long arms and quick feet for pass protection at the tackles. Coach Jake and Mahoney are pleased with Crowder. If it doesn't work out Coleman Thomas is the understudy as has been pointed out.

Late to the party as well and am so glad the prognosticators missed on their aTm and Barn predictions. My gray hair hides my teenager type excitement - OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!

The linchpin of a future great O-line has committed. In 2015 they will dominate after a strong 2014.

The coaches love Crowder and lots of glowing reports have come out about him, so I'd say you're a little off base here.

“there’s about four or five junior-college offensive tackles in this class that we’ve identified as impact guys, and blair is one of them,” 247sports national recruiting director jc shurburtt said.

“he’s from anniston, ala., which is in northern alabama, and that’s a place tennessee historically has been able to recruit pretty well. And considering their depth chart next year on the offensive line, i think it’s about as big of a pickup as you can get in this class.

“certainly, beating auburn on an alabama kid and beating texas a&m, with the momentum that they have right now — he did have a good visit out there — is huge.”

“junior-college recruiting, a lot of times, is about opportunity,” shurburtt said. “i think the opportunity at tennessee appeals to him, and i think he’s an answer for next year for at least one of the offensive-line positions.”

What has happened to Alan Posey? I was really excited about him when he signed. Seems like all reports were that he was going to be good and he had a "nasty" side to him. Then he just disappeared!

He may be a good player...who knows? He was never going to start over who we have now.

Yeah but none of these hypothetical front 5's for 2014 and beyond even have him listed. I realize this is all just speculation but man, it's like he's completely fallen off of everyone's radar.

Why OL Blair is such a key commitment
By Ryan Callahan, govols247.com

Tennessee took a significant step toward addressing one of its most glaring needs in the 2014 class Tuesday night with the commitment of four-star offensive tackle Dontavius Blair.

The 6-foot-8, 302-pound sophomore from Garden City (Kan.) Community College, who's a former standout at Anniston (Ala.) High School, chose the Vols over Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida State and Ole Miss, among others, giving Tennessee a possible bookend tackle capable of stepping into its starting lineup right away.

It was an important addition to the Vols' class for multiple reasons.

"There's about four or five junior-college offensive tackles in this class that we've identified as impact guys, and Blair is one of them," 247Sports national recruiting director JC Shurburtt said.

"He's from Anniston, Ala., which is in northern Alabama, and that's a place Tennessee historically has been able to recruit pretty well. And considering their depth chart next year on the offensive line, I think it's about as big of a pickup as you can get in this class.

Being behind so many experienced linemen prob. If he doesn't crack the rotation next spring then we'll know

I noticed during fall camp the coaches were praising a lot of the backups but not Posey. I've never heard anything negative about him, but I also haven't heard anything about him at all. For one reason or another the coaches don't seem to be too high on him.
