'14 JUCO TX WR Kameel Jackson (UT walk-on)

So the OP (Freak) said this guy was a 3/3. Do we know for sure what he'll be? Seems to me he'll be 3/2 if he plays this fall.

SIAP

I wonder if Jackson will end up a part of this class. I can see a scenario where Booth commits this weekend, Malone shows significant interest during the season (especially after Gaulden commits), and we lose contact with Jackson.

I hope not. Jackson could be the best WR commitment we have in this class. I think the kid comes in ready to play and possibly starts from day 1.

Hmm... Never thought of that. I would think that Jackson will still be a part of the class. I see Malone heading out of state. But we could see interest, the question is will it matter? Butch may hang a no vacancy sign on the class.

I follow Oklahoma as that was where I was born and raised. I remember when Jackson came in as a freshman. Despite having Broyles and Sills, he still got significant playing time. He is a play maker. I will even go so far as to say IMO he will end up the the top of this class of WR's in the end. He really is that talented. I would not worry about him being concerned with any you mentioned.

Jackson isn't afraid of any competition. That's straight outta the horse's mouth. This dude will be a starter. Maybe even from day one.

Last year. He played as a true frosh for OU in 2011, didn't play last year as he was transferring (will count as a redshirt), and is going to play JUCO ball this year. Will come in as a redshirt junior.

maybe i am not thinking of this right but if he didnt play last year b/c of xferring then he wouldnt have had to burn his RS year right?

after playing this fall he will have played 2 seasons, xferred 1 - so would still have 3 to play 2

not sure it will matter b/c i dont think he is being recruited to RS

Exactly. He burned his redshirt last year, plus played one year (freshman) at OU and will play his sophomore year at Blinn. Two seasons of playing plus a redshirt season (3 total) puts him at a redshirt (4th year) junior when he gets here.

If we lose Kameel then we lose the best WR we have committed. Hands down. The guy is an animal! But I don't believe he is going anywhere. The only way we don't get him is if he fails to qualify. Academics has been his only problem.

Good discussion. I have no idea how good Jackson is. The fact that he has yet to make it to campus is interesting, at least to me.

Texas to Tennessee isn't a cheap trip. If he thought enough of Tennessee to commit before a visit before, how has anything changed? He will take his OV in the fall and continue to be a Vol.

I thought he was the one driving down with Weatherd a few weeks ago? Who am I thinking of?
