"I have five offers right now," Barker told GamecockCentral.com. "Louisville, Illinois, Purdue, Western Kentucky, and Cincinnati have offered. The other schools I talk with most on a regular basis are Ohio State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Penn State, and a few others."

"I've been to Purdue, Northwestern, Penn State, and Kentucky so far this summer," Barker said. "I went to Vanderbilt over the weekend. This week I'm supposed to be going to Michigan, Ohio State, and South Carolina. Then I will go to Alabama, Tennessee, and possibly Cincinnati.

i hate when I see Qb highlight films and the majority of the plays are him running. I know this is only his sophmore film, but the kid takes too long in the pocket. That is why he has to scramble so much, he takes too dang long to throw. If he is still that slow he will be killed in college.

:lolabove: i don't agree. he's a duel QB who can run better than most. He didn't look slow to me. showed a nice ability to scramble when no one was open. not sure you were watching the same film.:loco:

He won't be able to make it to the USCjr and UGA game, so he is rescheduling for UT and USCjr. per Keith Niebuhr

Has a really nice arm. Only wish he played in a pro-style offense and didn't run as often.

Will be at the Carolina- Tennessee game this weekend.

Only QB that SC has offered and it sounds like the coaches are going to wait for Barker to decide before offering and pursuing anyone else and it sounds like SC is in great position. But if OSU offers, have to think he's going there.

Just saw this on Twitter.

#Tennessee #Vols assistant Mark Elder will be at QB Drew Barker's school tomorrow. Former #Bearcats coach Butch Jones offered Barker early

The SC 'insiders' think Tennessee will be a big factor with this guy now. Supposedly really likes Jones. Though it still sounds like he's holding out for that OSU offer.

One of the Midwest's top junior quarterbacks added to his offer list this week, as Drew Barker picked up offers from North Carolina and Tennessee. The Volunteers have a new coaching staff, but it is one that has a relationship with the Kentucky based quarterback prospect.

"Yeah, the main guys I talk to are Coach Jones, Coach Elder, and the main one, which is Coach Bajakian, who is the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. They went from UC to UT, and I have a really good relationship with them. UC was the second school to offer me, so they really believe in me and trust in me."

Barker was able to make it down to Knoxville for a visit, but now that he has an offer, he hopes to take a return trip.

"I went there this summer, but I just saw practice stuff, I didn't get to to see a whole lot, so we're going to go down early next year, January-February, take a tour and talk to the coaches."

I think you'll see more early commitments with this staff. Barker might be one of them.
