Derrell Scott*will make his decision on Monday at 3:15 p.m. at his school. The four-star Havelock (N.C.) running back is down to three schools –*Florida,*South Carolina*andTennessee. After talking to sources close to the situation, I think Tennessee is the team to beat, but South Carolina is right behind them, followed by Florida. Scott had his in-home with Tennessee head coach Butch Jones last night and I heard that the visit went great. Tonight, South Carolina head coach*Steve Spurrier*will go in-home with the Havelock star. I will be at the press conference on Monday.

Only thing that scares me is that we already have 2 really good backs committed for this class an they don't.. He could be their guy for this class...

We have 1 guy coming back who has ever contributed anything. David Williams is a redshirt freshman at Carolina and he's the same kind of All Purpose RB as Scott. I know what you're saying though. Kids these days don't exactly care about being the guy bc they see lsu, bama, Etc using 2-3 backs game and still going to the NFL. This kid wants immediate PT as well and Davis will get a big bulk of the carries.

IMO if South Carolina really led for this long then he would already be a Gamecock. Seems like it went on so long that UT came in and swayed him.

And there you have it. All wrapped up with a bow on top. Well stated.

By all reports Derrell is an introspective guy that is the antithesis of Richard Sherman. Obviously USCe would be an attractive option early on. But as his recruiting blew up he was able to look seriously at other options. No doubt he looked seriously at our roster, coaches, system/scheme, tradition, facilities and at who he would be in the recruiting class. He also looked closely at academics, campus life, student support, the area, etc. Then his long time favorite UF gets interested in him with Roper's hiring and he does the OV. If after all that it still lead back to USCe - why wait? Tell them you are in and shut it down. Instead he hosts Butch, and now hosts Stevie. It is not a stretch to believe he committed to Butch. All he has to do is beat out a recovering Paulk for playing time as a true freshman with a leg up on being bracketed with Hurd the next season.

True! But even then the depth charts don't matter that much. Kids these days know that it is better to share time with complementing backs, or even some with the same talents, than to be required to do all the work.

Ok, I'm ready to hear Spurrier showed up shiz faced at the house and French kissed Scotts mother.

SOS downed a case of banquet beer and showed up at the Scott's house looking like this
