Jay Demings Tweeted during James Demery’s final AAU game, ‘Can’t say enough about Team Charlotte’s 6’5″ guard James Demery. Is a special player that many schools will regret not recruiting.’
6’5 Wing James Demery experienced a great July. His Team Charlotte won a lot of games in a lot of big environments and Demery was the central figure for his team. He showed an ability to defend the perimeter at an elite level. He also showed the ability to attack the basket and finish through contact, against anyone.
Creighton, Virginia Tech, Miami, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and St Joe’s are his final 6 schools. Each of these schools have offered Demery (Tennessee being the first of this group to pull the trigger). Demery also plans on visiting each school in the coming months.
At the next level, the hyper athletic Demery is looking for, ‘…a school that best fits my situation, a school that will keep pushing me toward my top potential. I also need to have a great (and comfortable) relationship with the coaching staff.’

I would like to find room for this guy somewhere.

I hope Tennessee signs 6 with Stokes turning pro regardless and somebody will transfer out due to playing time. Demery could be a big time player down the road.

I would think long and hard between London/Demery if it came down to 1 spot for those 2, really like the upside of both.

I'd take the in state kid all things being equal.

I'd probably lean that way as well.

My one concern would be, that class would have no shooters. Austin isn't a 3 point shooter, Cornish is improving but still not a guy likely to shoot 35+% and then the bigs won't be either obviously.

Good point. Makes me hope we still find a way to add a guy like demery or Mitchell.

Had been wondering this...

I wouldn't say he's falling off the radar completely, Tennessee definitely still staying in touch, but I have gotten the strong impression that the feeling coming out of July is that he and Cornish are very similar and that they probably wouldn't take both in this class.
