14 points, that is my concern. Just like with Austin Peay, we should have smoked those people. We won't get another gimme like that for a while

They had two good drives coming out of the half, they made some adjustments, and then after they scored, we made some adjustments and got back to stopping them. They at no point dominated us or played on the same level. We just had moments where they outplayed us and capitalized. Those guys played hard. I thought the running back was looking like Derrick Henry back there at times. And McCown looked good for a while too. Big environment to play in for a 3rd string QB.

Stale, predictable playcalling isn't doing a bad OL any favors. Can't do that against good teams. Been saying it since the first game. You have to trust your guys to make plays in high pressure situations. Run/RPO on 1st down, predictable. Results in 2nd and long. Run/RPO on 2nd and long, predictable. Now it's 3rd and long and the defense gets to play off and DL pins their ears back.

Where's the switch releases? Stacked WRs? Motions to manipulate the coverage?

Don’t forget a few years back how bad our offense was. I think the SC game at home will prove a lot. If we jump up on them I would slow it down and use our run game to milk it out. Go vols. SC is struggling with a bad Miss state team atm.

This team has a focus problem. When they focus they are pretty good but then they drop out for a bit. It’s weird…
That was my thought as well. It’s a really weird team. Great at times then the very next few drives, they look like a JV high school squad.

We at least saved the trash moments till after we reached the magical 30 pt mark.Milton did use his legs more which was what allowed hooker to keep defenses at bay last year. Prior to this week he has looked like Tarzan and ran like a Dylan Mulveaney. We were spoiled with Hooker as he had a moderate arm strength, but had amazing touch which is why his deep ball game was nearly automatic. If Milton remembers how to run too next week we should be OK. Having Sampson running strong was big today.

Georgia has given up 14 at halftime to a terrible UAB team. Does that mean their defense sucks to?
I know some our fans look for anything to criticize about our play. But all teams mess up or lose rythmn sometimes. I agree we have to keep getting better, but today was our best game yet all around but we can still play much better. What some fans don’t realize is teams do fix problems and just because one week they don’t play well doesn’t mean they won’t get it fixed. And sometimes when teams are off it doesn’t take much to get them on track. I believe our offense is close to busting out. We will keep improving. We just have to put out max effort all 4 quarters. Nothing is never perfect but being able to bounce back next drive and next possession on offense and defense is key. Time to put it together and get a big win next Saturday night! GBO

We should be able to beat a team at UTSA's level very handily without having to use those tactics.

Yeah. The problem is we're 4 games in and it's happened pretty much every game and cost us one so it's not about UTSA. If anything, it was the perfect opportunity to work on some intermediate passing game instead of throwing 20 screens off of RPOs

I think many posters on here dismiss how big of a factor home field advantage, in particular crowd noise, plays in these games. When Neyland’s rockin’ it’s very hard for the opposing team to execute their game plan. With the Vols up 31-0 at the half, I think the team, and the fans, relaxed quite a bit thinking this one’s in the bag. The consequence was UTSA could better execute their plays resulting in their two successful drives. At 31-14 the players and fans realized this game was not over, so we started cheering again and the players refocused and the pendulum swung back in our favor.
