“For a while, Notre Dame was contacting me a lot, and Louisville. They both wanted me to take officials,” “I was supposed to have an in-home (visit) with (Louisville) coach (Bobby) Petrino this week, but I went ahead and told him I didn’t want to waste his time. I said Coach Jones reassured me that Tennessee is my home.”

“I kind of wanted to go to Notre Dame or Louisville, just because I’ve always wanted to go to Notre Dame,” he said. “And then, when I was little, that’s where I’m from, is Louisville. My dad lived in Louisville, and it’s just somewhere that I could have thought about playing. “I had questions for Coach Jones, and he answered them all, so it’s just all good now,” “And then Notre Dame and Louisville, they were preaching our numbers thing and that I’ll play early if I go to their schools.”

“He would have plays (on film) of Pig (Howard), showing what he can do, and then showing me running the exact same plays for Independence,” Wharton said. “He was showing, like, how I already do this stuff. “It just really assured me that, for me to come play early, it’s almost a guarantee for me to take it, with me coming in and playing. There’s only two other slots — Pig and J.J. (Johnathon Johnson) — so I have a good chance of playing early.” “I’m really excited for signing day, but I feel like it’s going to feel like forever until we get on campus,” Wharton said. “But I can’t wait until June 1 when I arrive there. It’s going to be great.”

What were his questions?

Notre Dame and Louisville were selling him on immediate playing time and detailed the Vol receiver depth and inferred that he would not be playing much at Tennessee his 1st year.Wharton asked Coach that question and as you see from the article what the answers were.

Thanks man

saw where vic responded to that Terry Googer kid when he said something about our commits. he said some kids will have to transfer and alot of kids will be disappointed. clearly the grapes are sour to the carolina commits bc of Derrell Scott. Vic was just telling him thats not true and everyone on our end is good. D'andre Payne then said UT must be doing something right when other schools are worried about our class

Sour grapes cuz he didn't get commitable offer
