For a while, Notre Dame was contacting me a lot, and Louisville. They both wanted me to take officials, I was supposed to have an in-home (visit) with (Louisville) coach (Bobby) Petrino this week, but I went ahead and told him I didnt want to waste his time. I said Coach Jones reassured me that Tennessee is my home.
I kind of wanted to go to Notre Dame or Louisville, just because Ive always wanted to go to Notre Dame, he said. And then, when I was little, thats where Im from, is Louisville. My dad lived in Louisville, and its just somewhere that I could have thought about playing. I had questions for Coach Jones, and he answered them all, so its just all good now, And then Notre Dame and Louisville, they were preaching our numbers thing and that Ill play early if I go to their schools.
He would have plays (on film) of Pig (Howard), showing what he can do, and then showing me running the exact same plays for Independence, Wharton said. He was showing, like, how I already do this stuff. It just really assured me that, for me to come play early, its almost a guarantee for me to take it, with me coming in and playing. Theres only two other slots Pig and J.J. (Johnathon Johnson) so I have a good chance of playing early. Im really excited for signing day, but I feel like its going to feel like forever until we get on campus, Wharton said. But I cant wait until June 1 when I arrive there. Its going to be great.
