You're being very kind and generous, downright gracious to Dooley. Taken on a recruit by recruit basis by what they've stated publicly, he literally wouldn't have pulled ANY of these guys. Thank God for Butch & The Boys.
You are right but after the key game, the Miss St, Mo, and Vanderbilt games it was over. He smoke screened a lot. Being the lawyer he was the 5.2 million payoff was ridiculous. And not deserving. Again it hindered the hiring situation for the new coach. We got the right man for the job.
Actually felt he micromanaged versus coached. Fiscal responsibility was like having to cut off your arm to save yourself. We did it.
He was an arrogant Sob...with coaches and players you can get away with it when your good but not so much when you are not.
I thought he recruited decently but cannot believe that he didn't care about in-state recruiting. What a great year to get a coach who understands recruiting. 2015 will be even better.
This and that.Dooley was not a good recruiter at all. He was below average IMO. The dude left the relationship between TN and in-state prospects a complete and utter mess. He took what Fulmer made bad and made it worse. I mean this guy lost a Tennessee legacy to freaking Vanderbilt. That is all that needs to be said. If half the top guys in his first class weren't already enrolled that wouldn't have been a Top 20 class either.
And what a huge pickup Barnett would be.
