Just talked to Horky and Dews...

Just a couple of quick notes as guys start to make their way out of town.

Horky said right now he intends to be a Vol, but just has to go home and talk to his parents about everything and a final decision should be in by midweek. He said everything was great and he wants to be in Knoxville as coach Jones turns everything around.

247 said he wants to be a Vol and could announce as early as Monday. He would be a preferred walkon his first year, but could have a scholarship in year two. Also, coaches said he told him he would have every chance to be the starting long snapper as soon as this year.

That is what we want. Time to prove his value to the team and then earn his scholy. Hope he commits as a preferred walk-on.

"As of right now my intentions are to go to Tennessee," Horky said. "That's what I want to do but I have to talk to my parents and then make the decision this week."

"It was awesome. It was a lot of fun," Horky said. "It was very impressive. All of the academic support and everything from the athletics to academics to how personable the team was and the coaches are, it was awesome. It was a great experience."

"I haven't really sat down and talked to any of the coaches besides coach Elder," Horky said. "I've met coach Azzanni and coach Jones because they came by the school back in December. But, I just felt at home here this weekend. All the coaches were awesome."

"Yesterday when we were trying on jerseys and stuff and we went out on the field and I just thought about playing in that stadium in front of 100,000 people and it being my home state and I would go there with some of my closest friends and all the players here are awesome," Horky said. "I just want to be apart of it and it's a very special program and I know coach Jones is going to turn this around and I want to be apart of it."

Great news. LS is a position that easily gets overlooked until something bad happens. Landing the top one in the country is a huge get.

Of course that takes another one away from the 2015 class. :p
