He can play with our new terrible unnecessarily changed logo. Go Bucs.

Johnson City native here. I love the new logo. Never cared for the old one, just seemed old and 90s-ish, like it should be paired up with big CRT monitors and goofy wardrobe choices. Oh, and liberals. But then again, most of the campus reminds me of liberals.

I was all for a change of logo, but not a big fan of the new one. Looks too much like a European soccer shield. (And I'm a soccer fan) just doesn't seems enough like a collegiate logo. I honestly wanted something similar to the old Davy Crockett UT logo but with a Buc and ETSU instead of Vols.

I can see where you're coming from, but it does seem collegiate to me. Not in the large public state university sort of way, but in the small, private Suwanee or Lees-McRae tucked away in the mountains sort of way. Like it's exclusive, almost. Think App State. I think those are the schools Noland (who I love, by the way) wants to compete with, which seems fine to me. He's doing what he can to make ETSU seem desirable and exciting to high school kids, which is one of the big things he can do short of changing the name. I don't think the athletic logo is going to change. I also like that they incorporated the State of Tennessee into the logo.

I'm a fan of Noland as well, I did like the incorporation of the state in the logo, I'm hoping it grows on me as time goes by. I hope we can swipe some of the talent that feeds into appy state when the football program is back up and going.

Would be nice. With Phil on the payroll it got me wondering if ETSU wouldn't be a likely landing place for kids that didn't make the cut at UT; walk-ons who couldn't play in the SEC but would be more than good enough for FCS, roster attrition, etc. It used to happen all the time at Carson-Newman. There's playing time to be had in spades there.

I love the Mini-Dome... Terrible place for basketball though, and I don't think the new football team is using it.

I hope not. They need a stadium, a real one, besides Science Hill's field. I'll be very interested to see where they build it. I was of the opinion that instead of building more apartments on the site of the Model Mill they should put the new stadium there instead. Would be a perfect development for downtown and would bring a lot of business to that part especially on gamedays. Would also really facilitate tailgating because its off-campus (so people can booze) and right next to the Tree Streets where all the fraternity houses are. I'd really like to see that happen.
