“As soon as I got the offer from them, I knew I had to make it there on a visit,” Smith said. “I basically went to see how there campus was and how the coaches are. How would they welcome me to the team, that was something I wanted to find out.”

“I felt at home, the staff was great because they did a great job welcoming me and every body else,” Smith said. “The head coach (Butch Jones) was even nicer, it wasn’t like he was too busy for us. He hung out with everybody and he seemed as if he’s just a great guy all the time.”

"I think it is a great school. I liked everything I saw up there and the coaches are very down to earth," Smith said. "I liked the locker room and the stadium is pretty nice, too. The campus is great and the atmosphere is outstanding. I like being around it."

"When I walked in it was how the coaches greeted me when I got there. And the head coach came down and said hello and he seemed like he was just a down to earth coach because he just hung out with us," Smith explained.

Smith is teammates with Tennessee legacy Keaton Anderson and before Smith made it to Knoxville, Anderson was letting him know about Knoxville. "He told me about all the good hangout spots up there. He told me about a place the go out to eat all the time and places his brother took him when he was up there," Smith said. "We are great friends. We talk about playing together every day. We tell coaches sometimes it's a dual package," Smith said.

"When I first started playing I was a receiver, then I moved to safety my sophomore year," Smith said. "Then, they moved me to outside linebacker because we needed help and I played with my brother, Rashawn Smith (now a linebacker at Ole Miss). I think I will play either receiver or safety in college."

Says he hopes to have a top 5 by the beginning of the season and will decide by the end of fall. Not in any rush to decide.

Will someone with a Rivals sub please look through the recent articles to see if Tennessee is mentioned. I'm curious to see if we are still recruiting this guy.

Smith talks about the Vols.
