'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Why use JJ when you have Dobbs?

I haven't seen him play, but I insinuated that JJ is a better athlete and dynamic with the ball in his hands. It also appeases him that he has a role as a QB. I am not saying to do it in a crucial 3rd down in the SEC Championship or anything, but IMO, it could provide another wrinkle. JMO of course.

Three quarterbacks are in the boat.

And with that, Tennessee now has the nation's No. 3 ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports.

First reported by 247Sports National Insider Ryan Bartow, the Vols added a pledge from the nation's No. 7 dual-threat quarterback Sheriron Jones on Thursday. The former Florida commit is the 28th commit for Butch Jones and his staff in the class-of-2015, and the 15th to hold four-star status or better according to 247Sports or the 247Sports Composite.

With Jones joining the fold, Tennessee passes SEC foe Georgia for the country's No. 3 ranked recruiting class.

Tennessee may have the nation's top quarterback class, as Jones joins Top100 dual-threat passer Jauan Jennings and Top247 pro-style quarterback Quinten Dormady, who both enrolled early. 247Sports ranks Jennings as the country's No. 5 player at his position and No. 89 prospect overall. Dormady checks in at No. 6 and No. 190. Jones is the country's No. 144 prospect overall.

Jones and company are still working in 2015 with top targets like running back Bryce Love, offensive tackle Patrick Allen and linebacker Quart'e Sapp still on the board.

Last Saturday, Tennessee landed a commitment from five-star defensive end Kyle Phillips, and the momentum continued with Jones less than a week later.

"I've been (to Tennessee) and love the pace and environment," Jones said. "The coaches are great and it's a great school. They care about their players." - 247

Kids are lining up to lead this Orange train. This makes it 100 percent one of them is going to be outstanding at the college level: No more Workeys or Petermans. The UT QB Factory is back! Boom...

We going to have an awesome qb competition soon. Sucks that one will almost definitely transfer, but good for us that our chances are good we get a solid qb wto replace Dobbs.
I don't know about that. If Peterman does transfer, then that's only 4QB's, and we've had QB injury issues the past few years. Dual-Threat QB's are often exposed to hits more than a pocket passer. So, you can't blame the staff for wanting to have an extra QB in the class, than we might otherwise take.

I like getting commits but don't we have other needs beside 3 QBs....like a tackle.

I wish everyone would shut up about OL we have 4 committed I repeat 4. We have all young players on the line as well. Chance Hall is your tackle and so is Jack. We could use one but when you can stock three top QBs(the most imp pos on the field) you smile and say thank the lord.

And I think Pat Allen is going to be a VOL.
