Ya my bro goes to school there. He is a grad student. Apparently they have a good program for what he is going for. I liked the campus but the city does suck. Him and his girlfriend hate it down there, besides the campus, but on a positive note she works at a obgyn office down there and the Main Dr at the office has a box for all florida games and said that she could have it next year for the ut game since she is a ut graduate and my brother is a maryville college

I've never stayed there. We went to at least four games in Gainesville but we always stay in Valdosta and drive down for the game. Most "unfriendly" people I met in the state (maybe because I was a Tennessee fan). The nicest place with nice friendly people that we visited was St. Augustine. St. Petersburg was also nice when we visited a couple of times back in the 1970's. I just don't do well around sand and oceans, I like mountains. JMO

Edit: And for HG, it's probably better for Gainesville to smell like hot garbage than corndogs!
