Torrance Gibson competed at The Opening and when it wasn't quarterbacks only at the Elite 11, he worked at wide receiver. He has a long way to go as a quarterback.

That's a pretty scathing review for the next Heisman winner....

He wont be coming to UT as a QB. Dont understand why fans keep thinking this. Jones is not gonna tell Dormady he wasnt taking any other QB's in this class if he was planning on Gibson being a QB at UT..And Coach Mathews has said the same thing.

Just about every QB is a project coming out of high school. Nobody we have is a plug and play guy from day 1.

Just about every QB is a project coming out of high school. Nobody we have is a plug and play guy from day 1.

Some are more polished than others. If I were him, I would go to Duke and play for Coach Cut.

Its more likely the fact that he didn't look good at QB at the Opening and Elite 11. Other than being able to throw the ball far he has very little QB qualities that stand out. There are alot of athletes that can throw the ball far and run great that would never make it as a QB in D1.

I'm curious to see how many stars he has after his senior year. I think he'll go back up as you can bet he'll do at least as good as he did last year, but you never know. Maybe if he drops to a three star and turns into a recluse some of these "don't want" folks will actually start to like him.

No. We have our QB's. Some of you all are so desperate it's sad. Every mobile QB will not be Cam Newton or Vince Young. I will trust the coaches to run THEIR offense with the QB's that they have offered and accepted a committment from. We have so many message board HC and OC that they know more about this offense than the coaches that installed it.
