Why would you move JJ without giving him a chance at QB? After all, that is the discussion that so many TG fans are up in arms over if TG is moved without giving him a chance at QB.)

What makes you believe that TG is more deserving of the opportunity than JJ or a better QB than JJ? Are you star gazing or do you know what Butch Jones is thinking?:p

I think TG is more talented and has more potential, but im up for both of them getting a shot if they both come here. Im not the one completely shooting down the idea just because I dont like one or the other

I dont star gaze. I can tell how talented a kid is by watching him play. Not by looking at stats or whether the "numbers" can afford it

This is how I feel about this thread right now:

He's talking about when he's at school in the hallways. Pretty sure kids aren't allowed to throw footballs in the halls during class change.

Leb - "I'm not even sure TG will be at Heritage next year"

I post proof that he will

Leb - "well obviously Gibson will only be back to play WR"

I post a blog from this morning where he is talking about himself as a QB.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth.

Agree with your point FTMP...but he could practice set up and hand/arm placement more to my point...those are like a pitcher practicing his delivery and grip...muscle memory exercises THAT DON'T REQUIRE THROWING...evading the pass rush is crucial also but seriously, does HE need practice in that area?

Because JJ is a Tennessee commitment and was promised a chance at QB before he committed. I tend to value the kid who picks our Vols early on. Also as I have

stated many times, I don't see much difference in JJs and TGs QB skills as of today. Although I do like to see/read that JJ is at least working on his QB skills. Why would I take back a promise made to JJ(A UT commitment) months ago to make room for a kid I don't think is any better? Silly IMO.

I probably should touch on the 2nd comment you made.

Had TG committed before Jennings, I would be passing on Jennings. I would think I had made that clear MANY times already. After Riley left, I was fine with taking 2 QBs. I did not see TG as optimal at the time, but had said IF the coaches told him it's now or never TG or Dormady, taking TG I could have lived with. 2 QBs and done in 2015. I have NEVER been ok with taking 3. IMO it's flat out stupid to do so. JMO

At times I favor the "higher ranked" guy. It just depends on the situation. Am I 100% sold on Sweat being better than Phillips? No. Am I 100% sold on Ordway being better than Abernathy? No. How about Mckenzie over Settle? Recruiting is a crapshoot at times. I do tend to value instate kids and IF an instate kid and a slightly "higher rated" out of state kid are on the table for the same position, give me the instate kid 95% of the time. "But 1 is a 5.7 3* and the other is 5.8 4*". Sorry, I don't really care.

Ill take the guy that can make more plays. Regardless of where theyre from or whether they've committed to UT or not.

Haven't watched Ordway or Abernathy yet but I believe McKenzie is better than Settle but thats no slight at Settle

True but none of us really know anything about how often recruits (not just TG) practice their craft. We hear about camps and what not but it's not like these journalists are following these kids around 24/7 to see what they're doing.

For example, TG tweeted this morning at like 7a.m he was "up early and ready to work"
Is he outside throwing footballs through a tire? Is he running WR routes with a teammate? Is he going to McDonald's to get started cooking egg mcmuffins?

It's all speculative. I'm just providing facts and quotes because obviously there are some posters here that believe he really was kicked out of American Heritage and/or he's 100% being recruited as a WR. :hi:

That image is disturbing and I watch a lot of horror movies

Add to that the fact he gets almost college level coaching at his hs.
Torrance Gibson debate on quarterback vs. athlete

5b. Comes Prepared - Gibson is blessed to be on a staff with not only one of the state of Florida’s top high school offensive coordinators in Mario Perez, but also with one loaded with ex-NFL talent. Head coach Mike Rumph and assistants Oronde Gadsen and Patrick Surtain are also on staff. Gibson gets to practice daily and soak in their knowledge like a sponge. Perez wisely incorporates a zone-read, shotgun spread scheme that tailors to his quarterback’s strength and skill set. The loaded staff can get their signal caller on the board and in the film room and point out what he will see from the defenses and how to attack them. Its immeasurable and even more importantly helps the transition for how he’ll learn on the next level.

I don't care who plays qb as long as we win.

The thought of having a qb that can extend plays or even pick up a crucial first down is exciting.

Vick at Tech
Tebow at UF
Young at Texas
White at WV
Mariotoa at Oregon
Miller at tOSU

I think this kid will be a winner just like the before mentioned players

Can't we just all get along/ :p

I try to get along with everyone. I discuss things and make a point to try and be decent about it. I think some folks take things too personal on here. They look at differing opinions as an insult to them and I don't quite get that. VN may not be for everyone. :p

The fact that you'd pass on Gibson all together is comical enough for me

I've never really seen you post anything offensive. I don't agree with your reasoning, but I don't have a problem with you.

And I'm all for differing opinions until someone starts talking out of their hindquarters with condescension.

Ehh, I said I could probably deal with taking him as a WR. Yeah, Bruce took the 2nd spot, but if everyone is alright with not taking a 4th OL guy, or a 3rd-4th DE, or a 3rd-4th DT maybe we could fit him in. I suppose I would have to see what the options were before I could say for sure. We are pretty deep at WR. Already a couple great options in 2016, I'd have to think about it.

Somewhere, Bruin is reading this thread. He's plotting a return to his rightful throne. Meanwhile, his minions keep mindless, annoying, bull**** discussions alive until he returns triumphantly.

There can be no other explanation for this ridiculous commentary.

You guys can get sick of this commentary all you want, but it's not like there is any real news to report about Gibson. He hasn't made any visits since his last one to UT and he hasn't done any interviews of note since then either.
