'15 GA DE D'Andre Walker

Fwiw. Still will be a battle til NSD

"It was always an uphill battle between Georgia and Tennessee, I don't know how I'm going to explain it to Coach Butch (Jones)," he said minutes after making the commitment. "But coming out here and seeing how many people from Georgia were here, and the support, I mean like my mom and them. It was an amazing experience. Staying home was big, of course.

"But it wasn't too much (that put UGA over the top), they both were the same, I'm telling you it was hard."

Meh...whatever. Good luck to him. We got who we needed. I think we will see his recruitment slow down some, unless the coaches want to recruit him hard, because they know he's most likely heading to JUCO and want to be in good position in 2 years.

I think Walker is a player UT should continue to pursue, especially if he is headed to a JUCO, and I think the coaches would make room for him in this class. That said, I'm not sure how the numbers would work for this class if UT were to add Walker now after adding Phillips and with other recruits still on the board but I'm pretty sure UT would have a spot for him.

Also, does anyone know why players with grades and/or test score issues are no longer going to prep schools? Until recently, it seemed like a number of elite players who failed to qualify went to prep schools and the rankings for that sector had a number of highly regarded players. Now, however, the prep school rankings have almost no highly ranked players but JUCO does.

With it looking like a long shot to qualify, this is one that I don't think you make room for, especially when we have very few precious spots and 4 other DEs committed. We are good here IMO.

I agree if he won't qualify I hope the coaches would put some more time in with hopes of snagging him post-JUCO if he goes that route. I like our DEs a lot as they stand. I just think Walker can be a special player and is worth a spot IF he can qualify or some more time if he cannot qualify and goes JUCO with the hope the effort will pay dividends later.

They scared. No matter how much talent they get that coaching staff will continue to lose games. My grandma could coach a better game than richt.

As it stands, UGA has a sick DL class on paper. UT does too. My guess is UT's will look a little better on paper than UGA's when Phillips is bumped to a 5* and Ford is bumped to a 4* (I'm also interested in whether Tuttle gets a bump) and that is assuming Walker qualifies and/or doesn't flip to UT. UGA without Walker (whether due to not qualifying or flipping), our DL class appears to be better, especially if we added Walker. Regardless, both DL classes are exciting and it remains to be seen which coaches better develop the players.
My money is on UT better developing the talent.

Lol. UGA has a good DLINE class but it isn't on the same level as UT. McKenzie and Tuttle on the interior are just almost impossible to beat at DT, UGA has a nice DT but UT has two elite ones plus Picou. Taylor on the edge is more athletically gifted than any DE in the country, he may or may not pan out but the kid has freakish explosion and speed. Walker for UGA will be lucky to get in academically. Then you have Ford, Butcher, and Phillips at DE as well. There is no way in hell I would trade our Dline for UGAs; it's laughable to think they're better.

They're doing good up front. Thompson is a problem. Best penetrating DT in this class.

KMac is the best DT in this class hands down, penetrating, containing, exploding, whatever. Best high school DL recruit I've ever seen

Thompson looks good, Kahlil is a better all around DT imo. Tuttle is also really good. The scary thing is likely that all-star is the worst we will ever see from McKenzie. He was out of football for a year and still was dominant.

UGA should have a top 5 class every year, as well as a top 10 team annually. There is no excuse for them not to. The state of Georgia is loaded.
