Thompsons favorites have changed here and there over the past month, but it is clear at this early stage that three schools have definitely made an impression.
They are high too, Thompson said. I would say Georgia, Florida State, and then Tennessee.
Thompson plans to return to Florida State in July for the second session of the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp. He also plans to attend a couple of games at Florida State during the 2013 season.
He plans to visit South Carolina next week. He will visit Georgia for Dawg Night.
247Sports.com ranks Thompson as the No. 7 player overall in the 2015 class.
"Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee are standing out to me, he said. "They just the atmosphere there I like.
TENNESSEE: "That was a good visit. I spent time with some of the recruits there and I played against a recruit that goes there now from Jonesboro [Cameron Sutton]. He was just telling me he likes it and they are trying to work it."
Interview after Trenton visited Auburn.. Article
Trenton talks about Garner being a good coach and then he gives his latest on his recruitment:
Georgia is still in the lead for Thompson. He also mentioned Florida, Florida State and Tennessee as other schools with Auburn standing out.
Georgia has a big lead, because they were my first offer and they show me a lot of love, Thompson said.
Master's degree? If he is any good then he will leave to the NFL and forget the Master's.
Why He's a Five-Star: "Defensive tackle is one of the most important positions in football, so a marquee guy who is athletic and can not only penetrate and get push but also run plays down to the outside is rare. Thompson is very strong at the point of attack and adept at splitting blocks and shooting the gap. He's a high-energy defensive tackle with athletic ability, and that's rare as well. Many of these top guys take plays off or slide by at times on talent, but Thompson works hard every play and brings it. I love his attitude and nastiness on the field. He's big but also athletic enough to play end in a 3-4 if he wanted to; that's also rare." -- Mike Farrell, national recruiting analyst, Rivals.com - See more at: Rivals.com Football Recruiting - 2015 First Five-Stars: Trenton Thompson
SKILL ASSESSMENT: Thompson is an ideal three-technique prospect. He has great power but also has great quickness for someone his size and oftentimes finds himself in the opposing team's backfield.
STATUS WITH VOLS: The Vols are in Thompson's early top group but this is a classic SEC race for a top defensive lineman. The hope for Tennessee is to get Thompson on campus this fall for a visit to deepen the relationship already built there.
OTHERS INVOLVED: Georgia, Florida State, Florida, Auburn
