To your point, the only real star, Randall Cobb, went to UK after being slow played by UT. The only other really good player I can remember was Aaron Douglas.

James "Little man" Stewart was from East Tennessee and so was Bill Bates.

Sorry , missed the 15 year part.

Sapp is a very good athlete with good acceleration. He’s got good speed and lateral agility. He will need to add weight to his frame during his senior year and once he gets to a college campus, but has the room to do so.

Sapp is a versatile player that excels versus the run and the pass. Against the run he does a great job of flowing down the line before filling and making a tackle. That kind of patience is rare for a young linebacker, but Sapp plays disciplined and then when the opportunity arises, he strikes. I saw great examples of him reading his keys and exploding to the football at the appropriate time without being over-aggressive.

This not to say that Sapp isn’t an aggressive football player. He is. He flies to the football and plays with a passion for the game. He just doesn’t let that passion overtake his responsibilities within the defensive scheme.

He does a great job in pass coverage passing off receivers in his zone and adjusting to the routes that are coming his way. He’s quick to break on the football and make a play when the ball is in the air. He also has the ability to cover running backs out of the backfield in man coverage.

My only critique of Sapp’s game is that he will hit and then pull down when he tackles at times rather than tackling through a ball carrier. Part of that may have to do with his size, but I’d like to see him continue to bring his feet and finish more as a tackler.

Sapp looked good when walked outside of the box and also was comfortable stacked inside the box. I think he’s a natural Will linebacker in a 4-3 scheme.

The only thing keeping a player like Sapp from contributing early is his size because he is a pretty polished player as a high school junior. If he can add good weight, I think he can be a very good starting linebacker.

Jalin Reeves-Maybin clone IMO. Reeves-Maybin was also like 6'1" 200 lbs coming out of High School... And they have very similar ratings on recruiting sites.

* senior stats: 114 tackles, 14 TFL, 5 INTs (including 1 TD return), 6 pass break-ups, 2 fumble recoveries and a safety. Sapp was named the Region 5-AAAAAA Defensive Player of the Year.

* junior stats: 104 tackles, 20 TFL, 2 INTs, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries (including 1 TD return).

From last spring: Quarte Sapp of Milton can rush the passer and also is excellent in pass coverage. Milton coach Howie DeCristofaro says that Sapp plays his position a bit like the basketball player that he is.

‘’That gives him a distinct advantage when it comes to understanding angles and trajectory of the ball,’’ Milton coach Howie DeCristofaro. “His desire and determination make him one of the best that I have coached. He cleans 300 pounds and bench presses 325. Combine those numbers with his athletic ability, and the sky is the limit for him.’’

247Sports.com ranks Sapp as Georgia's 4th-best LB prospect. However, Sapp bested the 3 guys ranked ahead of him -- Roquan Smith, Adonis Thomas & Montavious Atkinson -- when they all participated at the Atlanta NFTC last spring, winning Position Group MVP honors in the process.
